that was really cool!
I would love some of this kit on my desk/rig. The Steering robots would make great FFB wheels. The Gearchange kit could be used for an FFB Shifter. Notice the G25 at 7 minutes
I am so confused by these designs. For testing a finished/unmodified car they are fine but they could do everything so much easier by intercepting things directly. Most gas pedals are drive by wire so just... wire that in. And you could electrically pump brakes with a literal pump. Steering could be done under the column with a gear system.
In most modern vehicles, you can't just wire stuff in. It's a hell of a job to even replace small control units inside a modern car, because you have to fake their existence to other / higher-level control units.
And the placement of stuff somewhere else than the driver seat is very hard, because of the tight packaging in the cars.
I had seen it on tv already, but that was indeed awesome!!!
1:15 OMG!! imagine beeing the guy in the volvo! i would have shat my pants!
That volvo is a beast! Awsome driving, very wonderful to watch that!
/me gets some nationalism spirit inside me
i will start participating in a small race-team the coming season.
We race a close-to-series Ford Focus ST in the VLN races at the Nürburgring (in the VT2-class).
After each VLN race, there is a report and some nice photos on our facebook site ( https://www.facebook.com/TICRacingTeam ). Last season, the reports were only in german, but i will try and persuade the guy in charge to write in english the coming season. Anyway, there are still some nice photos and videos to be seen
So if you guys want to support a small racingteam and are interested also in the lower-class cars at the VLN, like our facebook page and look forward to the coming season, which kicks off at the 29th of March.
That's awesome Johnny!! Congrats!!
^^ I enjoyed that. It's nice to watch car stuff without guys being loud obnoxious pricks. Thanks for posting.
You got to see it to believe it..... some people can be so incredibly stupid..... this girl was very lucky this time though

No one posted the news about the 'ring and Capricorn yet!?
The Nürburgring finaly is in good hands...in hands, which cared about motorsports for a long time. I like capricorn since they had free and wonderfull coffee to taste, and a caterham F1 to drool on at the last PMW in cologne
Anyhow, BTG as always has the most compact piece on the affair: http://bridgetogantry.com/2/index.php/home/news/589-nuerburgring-sold-to-capricorn-for-100-million
