Couldn't help but share this Fittipaldi quote...

"Even now, at the age of 67, I miss racing. I miss being in the cockpit; I
miss braking late; I miss getting the car turned in; I miss kissing the
apex kerb with the inside front tyre; I miss twitching the car ever so
slightly to get the back end just a little out of line, so as to get it
lined up for a fast exit; I miss feeding in the power; I miss feeling
the rear end drift wider; I miss controlling that drift with a dab of
opposite lock; I miss keeping the power on, holding the slide; I miss
grabbing the next gear under full throttle and looking up to see that,
yes, my rival in front of me is a couple of car-lengths closer than he
was before the corner; I miss working out how and where to overtake; I
    miss it all."

    From here...

It is to present the "revolution"

The common car has the shape it has because with combustion engines it is simply the most efficient design for all parts of suspension and drive train, but if you think about cars ultimatelly, they are for many and also in its original purpose, only a way of transportation. For such you do not need the design you are used to (and therefore dont consider ugly) You need a construction that will keep you safely and comfortable. Also many projects now adress the problem of over populated planet. We are running out of room, especially in cities, so people need to start to become more compact and less space demanding.

    But ye, its ugly

Throughout the history of the conventional car, the aesthetics have improved significantly, just compare the box-like ugly nature of car's over the decades to what we have as standard now. These aesthetics have nothing to do with suspension, drive train, type of engine, etc.

And just from a glance, i'm not so convinced of that particular designs aero efficiency and crash safety (at least from head on collisions, imagine crash into something at 80 kph with what looks like no real crash box).

I've said it before & I'll say it again, re.car shape & design, in the interest of efficiency & aero dynamics we should look to nature, it's very simple, car shape & design should be closely based on that of a cow :

The answers have been under our very noses for so long.

aesthetics only in way of bodywork, the essential shape is still the very same from the very first car in history and the bodywork only changes with fashion, so 30 years ago the cars were not uglier, they only fitted into 80s fashion, something you maybe would consider ugly, but a kid of 80s would say its unbeliavably beautiful.

Saying that this shape is not safe is only again another example of convectional thinking (I am not trying to offend you in any way)

But i am not trying to argue with you, only trying to look at it from bigger point of view, if i apply my convenctional way to look at things than i aboslutelly agree with you that its ugly as shift
