Insufficient Video Memory detected

Hi Everyone !

Since Build 134, when I lunch rFactor2 I've got this startup Error

"Insufficient video Memory Detected-256 MB Minimum Required Continue Anyway ?" (I can select "Yes" or "No")

But, I have a ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB...

When I lunch the video setup (Configure Sim) it's saying "ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850 232MB"

The sim run fine (not worst then before) but this message start with build 134. I don't remember if the video setup was saying the same amount of videoRam before, I just noticed it with the build 134.

Is it normal ?

From the change log:
"Now allowing users to run the sim even if below minimum video mem requirements."

Seems your graphics card is wrongly detected as Radeon Mobility 5850 with only 232 Mb RAM and that is why you are getting this message (256 Mb RAM is minimum).

Do you think It affect the performance of the game ?

 

I don't think so but if it does then I guess the game runs even better.

 

Do you have onboard video as well as a proper card?

 

No, only this one

In fact, I'va got an iMac 27" running Win 7 64bit on bootcamp.

In the game files, find the Config.ini and open it with notepad. Look for the lines which say..

SystemRAM=
VideoRAM=
ObjDetail=
TexDetail=

Place the correct values for system and video RAM... and I changed Details to 3... all works well on my old system.

 

AceLain - got the same iMac and have gotten the same message. Think it must be a bug so let's report to ISI. Yep - game runs fine, just a disconcerting message.
