I would if asked. I think at the time there was another discussion on that, and considering he only liked my post I assume he either knew of/found that discussion, or worked out how to do it.
Here it is: rFactor-2-Extract-Tool-from-Noel-Hibbard I normally also put Content into the DevMode by Hand, because the with the Tool of Noel Hibbard extracted Files often need some Corrections anyway (not all MAS Files extracted, wrong SearchPath Entries in the Gen Files..). Especially when you use it for Cars. But for a Beginner it's a good Help. And in DevMode, i always would recommend to extract all MAS Files into Folders, except of the encrypted MAS files from DLC Content of course and delete the extracted Mas Files, to avoid any Conflicts of Files with the same File Name but different Content!
Thanks. I have tried the process manually, for a track, but I just get to the loading page and it hangs. any ideas? I updated the SCN so it has my Search Paths. SearchPath=. SearchPath=Sandown Fixed SearchPath=Sandown Fixed\ANIMs SearchPath=Sandown Fixed\GMT SearchPath=Sandown Fixed\Maps
I would generally extract the MAS that contains the .scn file(s), and check the .scn file for what track folder it's set up for. Then rename it to that. If multiple layouts exist, check the individual folder names (they'll usually have their own subfolders) and make sure you get them right. Then, go ahead and make the folders to extract the MAS files to if you want to do it that way (Maps, GMT, etc) and add the searchpaths as you have. (If not modding the track or only doing scn/AIW/tdf adjustments, just leave the MAS files intact and reference them in the .SCN files instead with MASFile entries) I'm not sure, but I'd probably avoid spaces in the track folder name. (and enable trace logging in devmode - can be very helpful when things aren't working)
SCN was missing a line for Material Path. Added that and it worked. The modding tip is handy too. not extracting the MaS files.
All of a sudden Noel's tool is claiming "unable to find modmgr" when right-clicking and asking to install (either to normal or devmode). Nothing has changed on my rig and reinstalling the Extract.exe hasn't helped. ModMgr is working fine and hasn't moved... Any ideas?
Create the Subfolder ..\rFactor 2\Bin32 and put a Copy of the ModMgr.exe, from the Folder ..\rFactor 2\Bin64 into it.
Thanks - I was just typing to say that what I had done since I last used it was to try the Release Candidate and then switched back again - this probably undid the move you have now suggested. Thanks Chris.
