    Hi all.
One question more about the well known cache dir
We have in our server, from 3 to 6 servers depending on the moment.
Until now, we have had a different instalation for every rF2 server. This was for us, the easiest way to manage the different championships, because every server is configured by a different person.
I've configured a server with the SteamCMD utility and the instalation was OK, but looooong, because of the big amount of content downloaded.
The size of the whole install (Steam and Server) is 13.5 Gb, and the size of the cache folder is 11.4 Gb. And we don't use any content of the cache.
    6 servers * 11.4 Gb = 68.4 Gb
    This is absolutely crazy.
Can we erase the cache folder without updating the server?
This would be a big help to save space in the server.
    Thanks.

The common practice is to use multiple Player folders in 1 install, each player/multi.json can be configured by whomever is running the server..our league runs 4-6 servers running different series without any problem, each with their own server settings, LiveRacers feed and Welcome messages..

You can delete cache files manually yes, but you will lose the content associated with those cache files. Also you might have to unsub from Steam workshop items so it won't re-download the cache again, not 100% sure.

Ok, thanks. Very good news for us.
I've already unsub all the content.

TPG, this is very interesting too, but sometimes we use different builds, depending on the championship.
Sometimes we have had different build behaviors depending on the mod.
But we could create several profiles per build.
How do you create the profiles?
Do you have problems with the plugins? We use Weather plugin (always realtime), Liveracers and HLSSSim Hotlaps.

Duplicate your player directory and rename the player folder and player.json to your desired profile name.

Or you could use Noel's Dedi server tool.

Oh, like in the old days, with rF1.
    Thanks, Woodee.

I highly recommend using Noel's Dedi-Server tool..and as Woody says, just duplicate and rename a copy of the original player folder and edit the player.json profile name..each profile can have different settings. ( i use player, player1, player2, etc..) We use LiveRacers and the Welcome Text plugins w/no issues.

As for using different builds, that may require a separate install..

btw..I'm using the SteamCMD dedicated server.

    Thank you for your advices.
I think that we can have all our servers using a couple of installations, with different builds, using several profiles.
Furthermore if we delete the cache files, this can save a big amount of disk space.
    Thank you very much :D

If you use the (very nice !) SteamCMD tool as described in marrs' guide, you can have multiple installs and each install is about 450Mo without mods.

So is a SteamCMD 'lite' server just a lite server (450megs or so) or does it have the cache? Some confusion above, but I think not everyone has/had done it yet...

*Oops, I see now Lagg said above the 11 gigs was there after using SteamCMD. That's not what I imagined when the initial setup was described as a 20 minute process (total). At least we can work around it I guess.

After doing the SteamCMD, I had to install manually every mod I needed because there was none installed. If there is a 11Go folder on my hard drive, it is hidden and useless
    From the first post :

Yeah, until the last page or two I was convinced it was a proper lite install, then it blurred a little.

I can confirm that anonymous SteamCMD method is really lite (~450 MB). No content, no cache.

How do you use the anonymous login?
    It didn't work for me.

I don't think so, because of the first post statement and warning in the migration page:
