I'm trying to do a conversion and I've tried to follow everything I've read here but I can't seem to apply it to this mesh: View attachment 15240 Can someone give me a rundown of how to convert this mesh into quads without it looking like a dogs breakfast? When I try to use quadify it doesn't look right. If I use tessellate it makes it even worse. I've also tried straight out subdivision but that isn't right either. Thanks
If I go to modifiers and quadify mesh before connecting edges in editpoly quadify doesn't do anything. If I connect edges first and then add modifier quadify mesh I get this: View attachment 15241 I must be missing something, either I'm doing something wrong with quadify or I'm not doing something right with connect edges? Thanks!
graphite tools-> quadify . To remove triangles.. not modifier View attachment 15256 When have quads (Edit the editPoly) select edges and press Connect
Ok I welded everything first and then quadify from graphite tools, then mesh smooth and then tessellate, I get this: View attachment 15257 Does that look right?
If I run either mesh smooth or tessellate again I get 8 polys on width ... but polys look pretty small, I guess its ok for corners to be like that though?
You can connect on width by only selecting width edge so maybe just restart after quadify. Select ball your width edge and connect... But I 'm still a newbies so... for futher help Mario is your man. He has develop great tool for track moddeling
