Hi there, I want to buy RFactor 2 but...I try the demo and I was a little disappointed how it looks bad even at max, no comparison with screenshot on website!! Is the demo an early version of the game? If I buy the game will the same key be valid for the future Steam version or should I wait? Tanks for yours help.
Try to drive around the track without caring about how bad it look. If after 1 hour you are not hooked, you can disinstall RF2 and look at some other product, if viceversa after 1 hour you can't stop, then I bet you would start to like the graphics, that is indeed very good to me.
The demo should have the most "visual candy" content outside of the Mores track. Visuals are a point of concern, yes, but have a look and make sure you have HDR enabled and FXAA disabled. If it suits you then, great, if not... I am afraid you'll have to wait a bit longer, unless you go the lifetime option and any car or track released afterwards will be free of charge, and you'll be able to run online whenever.
this may help: http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.p...e-Quality-Loss?p=324424&viewfull=1#post324424 and this: http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/22824-Graphics-settings-what-am-I-doing-wrong probably worth taking a look at this thread too: http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.p...ics-Seem-Disappointing-Am-I-Missing-Something rf2 can be a bit 'frustrating' at the beginning, but if you invest some time you will be rewarded

Demo cars are no where near the best in rF2. You need to buy it, get online, get some setups, get some Real Road into ya' !@! lol You get 7 days refund ............ ?
Thanks guys!!!I will try it again, but I have ATI card. By the way, I hope to be a good driver...I am new to sim racing even if I am an old age pc player...
First advise: Try another time of day (7-8 in the morning or so, avoid midday) and try to set some clouds. May I ask for specs?
Yeah sure!!! Fast reply: Intel i7 2,8ghz 12gb ddr3 ram asus hd7870 2gb ram 120gb ssd, 1tb hd sata3 for gaming, 1tb hd sata3 for work, 2tb sata3 for data win 8.1 x64 hope is ok for RFactor 2
Way better machine than mine.. I'm running a ati/amd 5600 series and its fine for an average 55/60 fps. With settings mostly max/high. Except reflection and textures at mid.
Every sim runs 150 FPS when you turn enough settings down. HDR is off in his screenshot (HDR off = rF1 graphics more or less).
You will likely need to enable Supersampling (in the AMD control panel) if you are picky about graphics. Use Level 7 (use application controlled AA in AMD control panel) in rF2 graphics settings. And then tweak with various visual/eye candy settings as you please. That's as good as it will get.
That is in the pits don't forget. On track I get 90-120+ but again that's with maximum 8 cars. If I load Longford night with HDR ( I use at night with other cars/ tracks other then Historics) my fps will be way lower. Belgium is a pretty fps friendly track for a big one.
Thanks guys, works better now!!!A little bit pixellated but much better. Would be great a guide for ATI users and noobs like me with in deep rfactor 2 settings. So if I buy lifetime key I will also use it on steam?
rf2 isn't on steam at the moment, there were talks it might be in the future but I'm not sure and if so I think it would still take some time and good to hear graphic looks better now!
