I love racing and I used to love this game. I know that this is a progressive kind of thing but in all honesty I think there needs to be improvement almost everywhere.

When I bought this sim I knew it was a wip, and for that reason I very nearly went for rfactor instead.
I did however think that the quality of content that would be introduced would be a regular thing. I haven't seen any new introductions from isi for single seaters, no LMPs no new tracks, what about dynamic weather, lighting for night races, sorting out the stupid menu?! When are you going to start adding commentary/pit assistance? I'm bored of waiting for all of this, and I haven't heard anything about any of it. It's almost like this game is dead.

This game was released in 2012 and people spend good money expecting quality and I don't see too much of that right now. The last car that was officially released by ISI is a road car from 1999?! Why?!

Isi needs to take a look at the competition. Can some one PLEASE give me some info on what to expect?

    Thanks.

I don't need a list of the stuff you've already released, and if that's what I can expect then no more content? Because your list ends with that road panoz road car that you've already released.

The past is an indicator of the future, which is what you asked for. This is our speed of development. The Panoz was released today, yes, that's what the date on the left means. So you can judge the pace. Before that it was a Silverstone update, before that the Civic.

I'm not going to tell you everything we're giving you for free in the future, no. We've announced and shown karts, kart track, Indy cars, Indianapolis. Those will be the next releases, perhaps with a few additions (which is what the Panoz was) thrown in. The Panoz wasn't build by us in 1999, by the way, it's the real life 1999 we're talking about.

If you are angry about the amount of free content, maybe you can find a sim developer you can pay for it.

If you want a list with just content:
    3/20/14 – Panoz AIV Roadster 1999 0.95 (first release)

In addition, what you're seeing is actual speed of development. We're not holding cars so we can give them all to you at the same time and make ourselves look better. A lot of developers from many genres do this to try to encourage sales. Then after the sales peak, they go back to their real pace. We're not doing that.

If you're "bored" enough to post a thread like this, perhaps you should have asked us prior to purchase. That way, if this is as big a deal to you as it clearly is, you wouldn't have had a level of expectation formed in your own mind to where you could feel that way.

We also have cars from 1966, by the way.

To start with this 'free content' isn't free at all. Every one pays for the game. Remember that. Again, I understand what you've released already is an indicator to future content, but I wasn't asking for that I was asking for information. I'm unsure why that is so difficult to get your head around. Where is all of this information that you've released because I can't find it?

As a paying customer I'm entitled to my opinion. You telling me to go and pay a developer to do it for me is just unprofessional.

If you guys don't do one of these, then I just may have to!!!!!

Only joking.....never leave RF2 for just one car, maybe 2, the Porsche 917-30 for instance lol.
Again, only joking, but looks like everyone is doing one of these now.

I take it you've never been a member of iRacing? you would have paid $12 for each car that was released and $15 for each track.

I'm also a member of iracing ( great sim but may not renew due to rf2 just starting to take off etc )

in iracing most members (well myself & pretty much all the members I know ) really just tend to stick to just one car & maybe use a 2nd in a less serious way, a car would be in a series which will have anything from about 5 to 12 tracks assigned to it which will run through each track ( server changes to the next track Tuesday each week)

I'm starting to suspect in rf2 people tend to jump around the cars a lot more?
perhaps not really mastering or becoming skillful on one main sim car ?
in more arcade style titles like gt4/5/6 there are about 1000 cars is this right? this must be really for the casual "game player" that just wants to crash each car for about 3 mins before moving on to the next

in Iracing me & pals stayed for two whole years on the same sim car ( spec racer ) on pretty much the same 8 tracks & had total blast with nail biting competition etc. ( the car & those tracks were of high quality ) we used to practice & race with very few incidents & it was very enjoyable.

rf2 has more than enough really good top quality cars to choose from, perhaps at the moment it only just has enough good tracks, with a couple more from ISI ( which are really good quality judging by the last few & looking forward to Indianapolis road config) & another couple of gems from modders ( come back feels3 !! ) I'll be happy.

Any other title devs attempting to match the quality of the ISI 60's Historics I think are trying to bite off more than they can chew, I'm starting to think that currently the ISI physics / ffb engine is the only one capable (of this quality level) .

hoping that rft mod group will keep updating their track pack to bring up to a good rf2 standard too
(still not tried rft track pack )

anyway I feel rf2 is now turning a corner & starting to become a serious alternative to others as a top main sim
( & future updates will only put emphasis on this )

    * after these latest updates I might give it another shot to convert my pals to rf2 again !

The general desire for "more content" indicates a gap in skill. Simple as that. The only legitimate desire for more content from a true sim racer is to simulate a particular series and this is not the case here. Rally is an exception because you are not supposed to memorize the tracks. rF1 or console titles are a better fit for casual "sim racers" who are just messing around and want to test content for a lap or two before moving on to the next fix.

I do that and i hate this non stop content release. I pretty much download everything i see, install, do 2 laps (half in Nordscheleife) and go for online.
No wonder why i´m usually on last positions (except for Brianza-F3 combo thanks to Durge).

I didn't delete your post, no matter how rudely it came across. I'm also entitled to not work in a hostile environment, and your post could have been made a 100 better ways. The responses you have received are due to your own attitude.

You said you weren't asking for the information given. So you'll have to further explain what information you want, so I can tell you where you can find it, or whether we haven't released it. Every time I have given information so far, it hasn't been what you wanted, yet you remain unforgiving and unable to explain what you want in an answer.

The information source you might use for Indy and IndyCars, as an example, would be the rFactor Web site. Click News and if you go back far enough, you see news on Indy.
    http://rfactor.net/web/2013/05/24/announcing-indy-500-licensing-for-rfactor2/

Since then, we have released a few in-development images of Indy on Twitter, Facebook, and on our Web site, which would keep people looking for information up-to-date.

I'm sticking with RF2. Sure, sometimes things go a little wrong, but ISI will fix it. I really don't have a problem with that. I think for the money we paid for RF2, it's totally worth it. And just think about the modders. Look what they have done with RF1. Can you imagine what we'll have once they really get going with RF2? It will be awesome. I guess it's the old saying, you can't please everyone all the time. I for one am pleased with RF2.

I'm a member of CMS and they are starting to move away from RF1 to RF2. I'm having a great time driving RF2. At this point it almost seems I have to force myself to drive RF1 because RF2 is so good.

What is conceived well is expressed clearly - and the words to say it come easily. (Boileau, french writer)
    in other words
    specific questions bring specific responses.

It might be adding a thread : "I'm angry, I must work things off"

I'm not a 'troll'. I still play this sim daily, and I still like it. Again I am entitled to my own opinion, and thanks for answering. As mentioned Im getting bored of the content that's already out. I suppose by now I was expecting developments with telemetry, commentary, more well known tracks and more cars in general and I haven't been able to find any news on what we can expect in the future. I'm not asking you to give it all away at once, it would just be nice to get regular updates on progress.

So to summarise No I wasn't asking for the info given, I am more interested in what to expect in the future.

Hm from a developer and / or a commercial view in my opinion it would be no good idea to post the roadmap.
I get your point but on the other hand imagine no more surprises like "automated hdr"
or "Loch Drummond" or the new "Panoz" or the build 494 MP issue . . äh . .
forget it (joke of course :D ) .
So I like this I call it "ISI style".
The higher the age, the rarer the chance to get surprised. Try to see some positive aspect in this behavior :)

    Couldn't resist... :)

But seriously, I'm well impressed by the speed of ISI's development, taking into account how small the team is versus how insanely complicated the cars and tracks are.

And the content released is free, no discussion. It's free.
Last summer I paid lifetime price for the sim itself. That was it, no further payment needed.
Then I downloaded all the content, for free.
Just the other day when I downloaded the Panoz, I wasn't charged anything. Hmm. Free?
And before that, the Civic and Silverstone; free of charge; gratis. So there's that.

AC has already planned to charge us paying customers even more for the Nordschleife come fall. Yuk, I say.
ISI's business model is infinitely more agreeable imo.

I couldn't possibly understand how one would become bored with the available content? There's always more to discover with each car on every track.
The more I race the current content, the more I get to know it, the more interested I become.
But then again, I am incapable of becoming bored.:)

I think with the release of build 590 we will see a lot more quality 3rd party stuff hit the track.. dev guys have been chasing their tails a bit waitng to see the effects of each build and 590 has smoothed a lot out I feel
