I have made simulation titles compass (rating realism and complexity) (incomplete, WIP)

What do you thin kabout this ? This is WIP of mine. Obviously there is a little bit subjectivity and bias to it, everyone would arrange it differently.

Realism is about how well developers manages to squeeze out realism out of components which are simulated. RF2 would be actually all over this compass in this axis as it is moddable, and official content also has a little bit in variation of realism. But I assumed best content should be rated.

Complexity is basically about what simulation can do. Now that I think about it, I probably pushed GT7 too far, but maybe not ? AC is way down on the right, because it frankly really does simulate little, it is high on realism, because what it simulates it squeezes out a lot.

I think ACC would have been on rF2 realism level for how I remember it in 2019 september. Soon after that they ruined it because people wanted it to be more like AC.

I am not sure if iR is that far right, but I think it is further than rF2 at this point for sure.

DR1 is there based on best cars and by assuming tarmac is less significant importance than other surfaces.

What do you think ?

I would put PCARS 2 and AMS 2 closer to each other. For me AMS2 is clearly PCARS 2 with same bugs, new content and ridiculous multiplayer.
First AMS deserves to be on the rF1 level more to the right because it has some coolest features like limited tire compounds, detailed force feedback and awesome content (so sad we don't have trucks in rFactor 2).

I don't see Forza Motorsport here, let's put Forza Motorsport 7 (no way I would put the latest game on any list other than disappointments) somewhere around Driver 2, maybe more to the middle.

Question for me - where do we put Race Driver: GRID with all its content and 24h Le Mans race simulation?

Thank you for the input. Yes, you convinced me AMS 1 should be further right, maybe slightly ahead RBR ? Or just the same.

I haven't played AMS2, but I suppose it would be probably where ACC is, maybe slightly lower. I probably put PC2 and GT7 too far right.

Makes sense for FM7. And unfortunately I don't know anything about Race Driver: GRID.

Unfortunately I get a "Content not viewable in your region" message.

Just for info, in the UK we can't view images hosted on Imgur as they have blocked UK access to their systems as a response to UK Government "Online Safety Act"

You have to take care of yourselves back there in UK, looks like it is getting bad there fast.

The picture is nothing special. It is compass. How difficulty, road holding, feel fits to real life is on South/North axis. How much complex, powerful and detailed simulation is is on West/East axis.

I thought it would be interesting view to test how people perceive certain simulations.

What I have found is that as per usual everyone is NPC and no one cares and thinks about anything.

This is how people get governments which later on blocks them from majority of internet and simracing developers who scams players out every time, fairly, as they actually deserve for being this way. Tragical commedy.

Silly thing before bed. What if to this compass another dimension would be added - the difficulty metric ?

Obviously the higher realism goes the more centered it is expeceted to be, so this is tricky part.
