How can I get someone to be my race engineer? Or me to be someone's race engineer?
There are a couple of solutions, one was just posted a day or so ago. If I had my desktop, I could find a link for you. The two programs work together. originally it was for data collection similar to how Motec is used. As usual I'm blanking on the name. .... search the forums for X. X4????
‘Crew chief’ is one program that l think is eventually going to be default in game ?
Use the "spectate" option in multiplayer.
You mean someone else setting up your car in real time ? Not possible (yet?) without having the same car (plus same upgrades) and sharing setup files.
In Avid Chronic Racing in FSR we used a program to send the live Motec data to a live race engineer who could monitor and for example track simple things like fuel vs target, tyre wear vs target. Tyre temps, engine temps etc.
Fuel can be done very easily in car using Dash meter pro. You set race distance and it will tell you fuel level and fuel needed also if it goes negative fuel to fill.
The rest you can get from spectate. In FSR the engineers stay in spectate.
I never used the live data system but I had fun engineering for a couple of race winning WC drivers. You needed to know the size of the pit window for each tyre in each stint. The engineers advice could prove crucial.
In Sepang (not me engineering) Kuba Brzinski did not respond to Morgan Morands final pit stop and the commentary guys said he'd blown it. Kuba's engineers knew the life of the tyre and held their nerve. Kuba passed in final laps.
If you are responding to my post, no I don't think it's that one. That seems to be an analysis tools for historical data rather than real time data.
Sorry it slips my mind I might be able to look it up.
Simhub. That is all
I'm pretty sure that is the one I mentioned, it has a separate program for real time streaming of data. The Z1 Dashboard specificallyl
I suppose that might be (technically) possible using the Steam's Remote Play Together feature (and rF2 does support it). Not sure if it would work like we may want (at least in current public-beta I suppose it would make sense?).
I guess we could add it on the wishlist section.
