How can I create a saturated realroad preset (no marbles) like those that come with the game? Or how can I remove the marbles...
Wouldn't the resulting realroad still have marbles though? The saturated preset that comes with the game is totally clean. Perfect for hot lapping.
I might have had the wrong impression then. It seemed to me that Silverstone with the saturated preset had pratically no marbles. Related question: how do we know when the racing line is saturated so we can save that as a preset?
Slightly off topic, what graphics setting are marbles tied to? Track detail? Special effects? Etc... I run triple monitors so I have to turn graphics down and I don't think I've ever seen marbles, admittedly 50 year old eyes and reading glasses may play into it.
Anytime I would run a session at a track, I would always save the RR status. Load that status next time out then save again after that session. I would just name it "base" or something like that...as though I was building a constant base layer of rubber.
Easiest way to get a 100% saturated track is to put the RR multiplier on max, load as many AI as possible at highest difficulty settings and let them run around for 30 minutes or so and then save it.
I proceed as follows : - Maximum of AI possible 11- AI force = 100, AI aggression = 100, AI limiter = 0. - Dammage = 0. - Realroad = X2 (for realism, great maximum X3). - Running time = ~ 3-6 hours. - Graphics totally at LOW to "relieve" your PC. - Put a maximum of different types of cars (important) - Weather : dry weather (important)
Depending on the track, your expertise, and your desired results, you can load the track into devmode and use the controls to set manual rubber amount (which then goes on ALL realroad surfaces). That produces zero marbles. Or, you can do the automated AI way in single player (or in devmode, too), then load the rubber file into the track in devmode, do manual marbles to set them to zero, and you have your 'full rubber groove' with zero marbles. Doesn't work for locked tracks, unless there's a way to get the files working without unpacking the MAS. I haven't looked into that.
Agree All I know is the marbles are part of the realroad. They use the same mapping channel as the rubber. So both textures (if mapped correctly) are going to come through when realroad calls for it. The more saturated the track gets the more marbles show. Which in turn makes you have to stay on the fast line otherwise the marbles give understeer and slow you down. Best result is a low mid preset where you can see the driving line but have minor marbles.
Thank you so much. I'm going to have a look at the modding guides. Edit: worked perfectly for the official Silverstone both options you mentioned in the "weather gfx" menu in dev mode. Thank you so much everyone!
Is there no presets that we can download or that can't just be accessed in the game that would have a profile for each track to be totally rubbered in to start? My gaming time is so limited with work and real life stuff that I can't waste it by letting ai hotlap for 30 minutes to make the track driveable.
Sure I know that, but how long do you need to wait for the ai to lay down enough rubber on Nords or Targa? Would be great if there was an option for people to upload their rubbered profiles and we could download.
Have you tried to create the rubber profile in Devmode through the launcher? Copy the track to the Moddev folder in the game files. Launch Devmode and go to the weather gfx drop down menu. There you can edit the marbles and realroad saturation (it will change all the track surfaces rubber instead of the racing line only). If you wanna use the AI to create a preset you can make it faster by running more ai coupled with lighter cpu bound graphics settings. In this case to remove the marbles you need to use the Devmode as described above.
Targa florio : unfortunataly.... no real road. a must have in rf2. Nordschleife (laser scanned worked for dx9 and bad dx11 version) : I will post on google drive my real road (very high rubber) EDIT: here is a very good realroad (very rubbered) https://www.dropbox.com/s/stvh44act415xal/ULTRA_1.rrbin?dl=0
