Hosting More Then 1 rFactor 2 Server On One Computer

Hi,

I have currently got a server working on rFactor 2, which runs great but I was just wondering if it is possible to run more then 1 rFactor 2 server on 1 computer? If so how can you do it.

I would appreciate it if anyone could help :)

In rF1 we just copied the dedicated exe,adjusted the multiplayer files to have a different port,opened it in router etc
and configured..........
not sure if it's the same for rF2?
 
Hey James,

- You need to make a 2nd rF2 lite install
- copy the userdata from the first to the second install (you'll have the same settings)
- IMPORTANT: change the Port nr for the second server.
- spread the ports "1000" from each other
- open those ports in your router

- you can install content from a common "packages" folder.
- vmods need to be in the packages folder from that server.

Build 906 bug work around:

- if you change "packages dir" and or "working dir" in the mod-manager to install content on a different server install:
Close the mod manager and open it again. Then it shows you the correct packages installed.
- same thing if you "delete" a vmod after uninstalling it.

Note: you need a minimum of 256kbs up and download per connected client.
If there are +20 clients, you'll need more per client.

Make sure your upload speed can handle it.
