Horizon Tilt

As OP, I was talking about the default horizon tilt effect in AC and Automobilista that some could describe as a seesaw or as I said enough to make you sea sick. Sounds like it also makes Tuttle sick. He just confirmed there is no adjustment for it in rF2 as I suspected. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing some secret .JSON setting somewhere.

Did some more poking and the setting in the Automobilista .PLR file is the old familiar:

Head Physics="0.50000" // Fraction of head physics movement applied to cockpit view (position AND rotation)

We have the same line here, but it appears to be disabled--perhaps because the devs here do not like the effect, even though it was in rF1.

I don't particularly like it, either, but as mentioned, would not disable it because clearly there are many others who disagree with us and why not let people choose an option that does no harm to others and may make them feel more comfortable transitioning to rF2 from another product?

Tuttle, could you confirm that the Head Physics line in Player.JSON is intentionally disabled. If so, presumably it will get removed at some point for housekeeping purposes.

Also interesting that to get rid of it in Automobilista you have to hack the .PLR file, though they are still working on the UI during the early release period.

Hm where did you get the idea it was disabled in rF2? This setting is still (albeit confusingly) found under Controller page in UI, I don't think its effect has changed since rF1 times. All the camera functions between rF1 and rF2 are more or less the same.

I honestly still don't get what you are asking for. I've got "seasickness" in AC while running default Lock to Horizon, not in rF2...so I don't know why you are trying to force rF2 producing the same aberration. I'm lost. :)

BTW, Head Physics is working but has nothing to do with the horizon lock.

Sorry, I really don't understand what are you trying to do. Guess I already replied saying NO, rF2 does not have any Lock To Horizon on/off feature as AC.

Also don't understand why you keep calling Horizon Tilt.... this is really a confusing topic... :P

I resolved all the problems of head motion using track IR. I can look ahead, look at corners, lean into, outo, look down, everything. Before that, realhead motion plugin was very immersive and nice, but nothing beat the REAL motion of YOUR head. :D

Not sure if you noticed, but there's a whole page back there of people trying to work out what the OP meant. :)

Does horizon tilt = head roll? We know it's not head tilt for sure, but you could maybe call head roll horizon tilt. Not that I'd choose that word personally. (I'd just go with head roll - but not rolling into the corners, rather rolling away from the corners due to G-force and a botoxed neck)

Oh well this is pure Collins exegesis...lol

If he meant Roll then the entire AC thinghy in the OP, does not make any sense to me. If you just want this off just turn off the relative head movement in the game UI/Control settings...

..headache...:D

I still think that the vibration-multipliers are what Marc is looking for, as it is responsible for "seasickness" and ever was in rF1 and 2.
Just test it, or use realheadmotion-plugin (what has a similar effect: car moves, world outside not).

As I already stated above (clearly I thought), the feature that I am looking for is called Head Physics in the AMS .PLR file. I presume it was there in rF1, too. In AMS it works. If you set it to 0, it is off and AMS behaves like rF2. If you set it to 1.0, you will be sea sick after a couple of corners ;)

The same Head Physics line is in the rF2 player .JSON file. Except it does nothing, regardless of what setting you choose. How complicated is that? Apparently too much.

stonec pointed out that the UI has this Head Physics slider under Controllers. What does it do? Is it only ineffective on my machine? Or do we all have a slider that is in the wrong place in the UI and does nothing?

people is not here to try things for you, also you have been answered a moltitude of times already. Take your time and experiment your own.
