It's not torque steer that I was experiencing,as I said above, all is back to normal now that I verified the files.
The changelog makes mention of this: I can't really square "minor tweaks" with the fact the car's behaviour is so different (and, imo, worse) than the previous version on the Medium tyre, yet so familiar - and good - on the Soft! Anyway, none of this is a deal-breaker. I'll just be using the Soft tyre and awaiting news or more updates from the devs.
you could try using smoothing at 32. I did it helped with the snappiness but made the ffb all feel too rounded off.
First picture corresponds to version 1.08. Second one is from latest v1.30. Black line corresponds to soft tires and colored one is for medium tires. With NO doubts medium tires have been substantially changed.
I just checked and medium tires' TGM files are different size compared to the rest. Hardest option (only availabale through upgrade) has the same size as soft one. As it would be expected, the behaviour of the hardest tire in new version is normal. In previous version medium tire behaviour was in between hard and soft compunds. in this new version the behaviour of medium tire is completely odd to the other two. The conclusion is that some type of error has provoked a buggy TGM file. Maybe from a different car? It would be good if S397 could confirm and correct this issue.
SPASKIS, I really appreciate you looking into this in such detail. I haven't got around to trying the Hard tyre yet, good to know that's behaving "normally." And I agree, if the devs have any time or opportunity it would be nice to get their input.
The medium tires are the newest cpm tire model and the soft and hard tires are the old tire modell. Maybe thats the reason why the feel so different
When did the Civic get CPM? I must've missed that, a bit strange to do one tire and not the others though.
Because the [LookupTable] says v1.103 and not v1.01 as in previous versions and the generated data "looks" like the new cpm version. Maybe i am wrong but this is what i observed.
ok cool, can't remember it being officially announced that they'd upgraded to CPM (like they did with other cars), again I may of missed that but can't find any relevant info on it, I'll seek official confirmation.
You are probably right. However, IMO it was picked and renamed by error probably from another car. It doesn't make any sense to introduce CPM only for one of the 4 different compounds.
Yeah you are right. If i remember correct there is a 245 wide tire in the isi example tire pack which has the newest cpm modell so maybe they took this one but this still doesn't explain why not all tires are the same
Great investigation @SPASKIS . This thread is unfortunately a lot of speculation as it is now, we need someone to confirm it.
Latest roadmap confirms that the Civic doesn't currently have the latest CPM tire, but it will one day.
I have the OSW small mige. ffb strength: 100%, mmos effects: all OFF. overall filter: 0 ingame: minimun torque and smoothing: 0%. car ffb multiplier: 1.00 I get a nice feeling on the force feedback with this setting.. the key for me was assuring traction all the time, avoiding rev limiter, wheel spin/locking and releasing throtle over big kerbs (which makes perfect sense being fwd). I'm also getting the weird ffb with medium compound.. its a shame with such a cool mod. I love this car. regards
So you suggest for the moment to use hard/soft tyres ? This car is really good, I hope there is 2 or 2 others tractions cars but more powerfull than the clio.
