Hi Guys and Gals

For a longtime I had a vision for a different kind of F3 skin packs.
A concept if you would that could be used across cars for Open rooms and Offline.

Skyfox made Great Durges F3s pack as a test years ago but we never added to it
so I never ran it online, plus it had drawbacks which we feel we have got a round
and I would like to discuss.


MatF1 has put our vision into a test mod in F3 Rookies room it is Get Mod activated.

The mod is purely a test mod so I ask some questions may help us, explain concept and ask for help and discussion please.



OBJECT:
=======

To have F3 Eve skinpack/s ( to start ) that has all regular drivers and slots for Guests.

No red yellow white cars used

No skin transfer enabled, no download needed, no skin boxes.

Rookies / Newcomers have own skin design for easier detection on track.

To end up not needing a loose F3 skin ever.


CONCEPT:
========

Mods would be 30 Regular F3 Drivers and 6 Guest cars ( why I asked about size )

Once all slots are taken (1st Pack will be go fast I think ) Pack #2 would be made, and so on.

Then anyone offlines or makes a open room mod could join the Packs together and pick individual cars from all packs for their regular drivers.

Any room uses the packs would make Guest drivers aware of the Submit and request thread to keep the packs moving along.

A "Car and Driver submit and request thread" will be made.
Latest package will be updated every month with new submissions.

Oldest rF2 members and people from BB's Fanatics and F3 Rookies will get precedence on car numbers in the F3 Eve Pack #1.

I have a big list of cars to add but like I said we will do a proper thread where all cars are show-roomed name/ # for submission including mine.

Some Pre-reserved slots for F3 Eve Pack #1

Frans - Lotus Gold Leaf ( he has taken to iRacing and AC lol )
But one of oldest mates, taught me to drive Belgium, we will be back.
Till then anyone can test drive his lovely car.

BB - BB has helped F3 community heaps,and I hope this concept can be used there in his own room mods.

Boxer, CM, Skyfox, WooChoo, Hector, Bwana

That makes it up to 20 cars for Pack #1 ( too many more I would like to add )

When these are added and named and tested I will commence the official submit car thread for rest.


Will also need people willing to host 30-36 cars please.
 
Durge, remove the period in the v1.0 of the rfcmp name before you upload it to DropBox. It should work on GetMod, then.

Na, I registered it with Noel's tool, there was a download but when I checked it later it was not registered. keeping a closer eye on it tonight.

...I like the idea Durge.

The F3 community seems a bit more consistent in attendance than most, so it would be lovely to see all those regulars in their proper clothes each night.
I just did a test of the new mod before uploading and it was awesome to race (or bump off) some of those guys as AI.

It would be nice if people who have no talent in this area let us know if they need a skin made. If you race the F3 more than once a month, the answer is yes :)
I'm sure there are a few artists ready and willing to help out.

If you see the F3 rookies server up, come join us and say Hi.
 
Pack #1 starting to look Great. :)

I think once you get Get Mod sorted and updates we can do a submit thread, slots are going fast. :)

WooChoo kindly re-did 18 Guest Cars ( without his name ) enough to cover 3 Packs ( if we ever get that far )
and numbered above 100 so no conflicts with drivers cars...nice.



Got first get Mod joiner in :) Backfire Mat he will need a car too !

Happy to help out, and chuffed that you chose to recognise the effort that went into Longford in this way :)

Is fixed now I think Woo had 4 in so far tonight, Backfire and Hector included.

Fair few reserved car slots now.

Have to make thread after Mat gives ok and get skins submitted, numbers sorted ( as you said Woo )
and CM had done helmets and suits for my F3 Durges Mod so maybe we can look at that too.

But all this can be done over time for final package, hopefully just the first of a few.

Then onto F3 Sparks I guess ? :)

I think of submit format info needed:

Showroom pic of skin
winrar of car ( if different from existing cars in package )
Driver name
Car#
Any changes wanted.

We also got to come up with a name for the skinpacks, something catchy can be used across cars.

I think we right on track mate everyone in room so far likes the idea.


I just want to make something clear you do not have to have ever raced in F3-Rookies to be included in this concept/idea.


We have say 90 F3 drivers, I do not think that is out of the realms ?

3 Packs 30 drivers and 6 guests each.

With that you could make your own room mod and add the exact cars you want.

No reason F3 Leagues could not do same submit their full teams to one of the packs or more so they have a permanent seat in open rooms too.

Steam Workshop the concept for all cars and mixed class racing.

I'm just so rapt how fluid it is for "everyone" joining and car select and no skinboxes.

Anyone got a idea for submit skin and request thread.....

First we have to nail down car numbers # from #1 to #99 for Private Cars and the new yet to be added Guest Cars will be #100- #118 spread over other packs hopefully.

I will stay DD my car is finished so I will take any number left.

I do believe the guests are 101-118, so technically, unless you're making changes (which is fine with me), number 100 would still be open
 
Okay 1-100 it is.

I want DD so I will just have a floating number until we get 4th pack started. hehehe

I think we could get 50-60 easy for 2 packs and if leagues wanted to submit there private cars 100 would not be out of reach.

I should get thread up I think, I wait and ask Mat.

I already have 4-5 more I said I would reserve a slot for but they better hurry for Pack #1

Make that 6 Sergio's back and wants his Dick Dastardly skin ? p or one Nikos did for him.

Over 30 downloads through Noel's getmod service overnight... not too shabby.

I did notice a few of them are smaller in size.

He sounds like he is willing to help you, he likes the idea, BB seemed pretty enthused about it to. :)

Anyone can fix any conflicts with their skins before submitting would be greatly appreciated

Some are missing the fake shading. An easy place to see it is around/under/inside the nose area. That's just a layer group in the Photoshop template.
In theory it could be added to the skin file as is, but it would be better quality if it came from the skin's author, directly from within their raw template psd file.
