Help with screen resolution and black bars

Can anyone help me get my resolution back so it takes up my whole screen? I dont know what I changed to make it like this but I'd like it undone and I cant seem to manage it myself.

 

Yes. Open your config.ini and look for widescreenUI and set this to 1. Should look like this.

widescreenUI = 1

 

I have widescreenUI = 1 in config.ini and I still got UI in 4:3 format.

 

You have to edit the config. Ini while the sim is not operating for the widescreen UI to stick.

...and if you change anything related to video settings in the game, you need to go back and do it again.

I got the same problem. I got everything set in config and still the screen is at 4:3 mode. Can't seem to get it to 16:9 mode.
I hope there is someone that can help me.

 

So your config.INI has wide screen UI set to 1 but still you have 4:3?

I just want to confirm as this has not been reported before so far as I have seen.

Yes. I have set them to "1" and still the game runs in 4:3.
I also deleted the config so the game makes a new one.
After that the UI is set to 0. If i change it to 1 it doesn't make a difference.

 

Problem solved. Resolution changed. It works ok now.

 

Check you have not got Config.ini in more than one folder. Do a windows search of your rfactor installs for this file.
Only folder you need it in is in UserData
I had 3 for some reason.
