Please visit their site. As we did with VirtualR it's important to us that we try to give some visitors to the sites that support us. We'll try to do this with other sites when we can. :)

I will be posting these same shots in the side by side comparison format seen in some of the other HDR shots sometime later this coming week, until then, please visit RD to view them rather than reposting them on here or on your own site.

    Thanks muchly. :)

I really appreciate you sharing more screenshots, but I think these would go over better with the community if they were before/after comparisons.

Edit #1: the jpeg compression is pretty bad, though that might be RD's fault, not yours.

Edit #2: feels3 helped me find better versions...

    Bad version
    Bad version
    Good version
    Good version

Yeah it's up to them how they handle the images. Whether it's in signin areas, etc. You can just wait for later this week if the image or how it's handled is an issue.

If you dont see the differences between the two shots with the megane, you're a lost cause.

I edited it but it's just way too low graphic wise, the distance displayed is foolish, everything is too low poly, too low in resolution.

This one is far better even if it's photoshoped. I guess the lighting makes it better.

I'd be curious to know if its the same one who did sepang and estoril.

    Your edited version is horrible!

This one has better resolution and it's not edited.
    Looking good for me.

Could you show me iR or NFS in the rain, at the sunset and sunrise or cloudy weather...?
Could you show me visual tire deformation or tire damage and flatspots in iR or NFS?
Could you show me heat haze fx in iR or NFS?
Could you show me drying line after rain in iR or NFS?
    HDR or bloom in iR?
    Rubber build-up and marbles?

    It's not enough for you?

If rf2 graphics is to bad for you, you should play NFS or iR :)

    @shum94

What do you think about this one?
In my opinion new rf2 WIP screenshots are looking much better than this.

And I'm sure your two screenshots are edited ;)

    And compare to this one.
    Rf2 looks much better.

I think rFactor 1 has a better engine than iracing graphicly. I'm just pointing out that nowadays this level of graphics in polygon and texturing is unacceptable, at least on the megane estoril screenshot.

People may disagree on that. But i was just pointing out the huge difference on graphics quality between the two rF 2 screens.

And artists making textures such as SLN or Hudson in Iracing arent the same people who are making the graphic engine.

ISI Joe and whoever else who participated in rFactor engine did a good job.

I'm just unhappy with the choices made in the level of texturing in ISI products and they advertise on it.

I'm waiting rFactor 2, others sims do not interest me physicly wise.

    Magic word...WIP :)

"Note that these screenshots were captured during the development of rFactor 2 and therefore are not indicative of final content or quality."

Quote from rfactor.net regarding the latest screenshots.
"The screenshots here are a good indication of where we are heading with the effects, but it’s important to note that we still have a few things to finalize..."

For sure the post-fx aren't final (love the heat-haze) and maybe there are some placeholder textures/shaders visible in these shots (I don't see any reflections on the car), but I think we have come to the stage where we are 'allowed' to give our opinions about the screenshots and compare them with other sims and rf1-mods.

If the HDR profile allows us to adjust the color temperature on a track-by-track basis, that would be truly awesome. Many of these recent images look great as-is, but I think they look much better with some subtle changes.

And that's the most important point. If you are unhappy with the level of graphics in polygon and texturing you just have to wait until some high qualitiy mods are released, in my opinion, for example the CTDP F1 2006 cars are much better than the cars of F1 2010 from Codemasters
If you compare this two images you can see that rFactor has much more detailed cars

Yes, but huge poly usage is not enough.

You need good lighting model, high quality shadows and smart shaders.

Lighting, shadows and materials look much better in Codies (comparing to rf 1)

If you put low poly car in high quality environment it will be looking better than high poly car in outdated lighting model.

This video is good example how important is proper lighting and show differences with similar poly usage.

That is Road America, one of the first tracks available for iRacing, made in 2008. Their newer tracks are much better looking, especially Spa and Okayama are my favorites.
