Figured out how to make a factory 4-Speed [default] and 5-Speed upgrade set. Sound still needs a little tweaking [can't hear skids or tires enough]. I'm hesitant to post it public unless I can get approval from the modder of the sounds as I had to borrow the engine sounds until I can make new ones. Anyone know if the RF1 "HistorX" modders are still in business?

Fantastic mod! The mirrors on the 240Z are very washed out, almost completely white.

I tried out your mod. I have no engine sound and the mirrors are fully blown out. B770 @ 64bit. I turned the opponent sound to 0% and still nothing.

    Thank you anyway.

you need ISI corvette c6rgt2 installed, he uses those sound files, 240z S30 had 2.4 litre inline 6 SOHC, twin 1 3/4 " Hitachi carbs 146 BHP, 240ZG432(r) "r" version had lighter front fenders, PS30, had a 2.0 litre inline 6 Twin OHC engine 160BHP with Yamaha head 24 valve, and triple 40mm Solex side draft carbies, only 420 of these engines were ever made........I still have my January 1970 240z S30 with serial number 000008, but has modded 2.8 litre engine, and triple 52 mm webers, first ever 240z's were all exported to Australia Dec 1969, unfortunately car 1 and car 2 are still at nissan and never driven, but number 3 is in brisbane, and the owner made it into a convertable, if he hadnt have done that it would be worth over $800,000 USD, its worth nothing now..... as number 4 was sold to a guy in Egypt ,2 yrs ago for $510,000 USD

Wow, you are obviously more than passingly familiar with these vehicles!!!!

Any tips on where the author (or helpers) could get good quality sound files?

~Thanks so much for these fun cars~
I can't help but drive them like I'm driving the 'Vette because of the engine sound. :)

    Great fun tho!

I would try and use sound files from a Nissan GTR , but reduce (lower)the HIGH revs sound and take out turbo sound files, would be a close match for a Z car

Unfortunately the Nissan GTR is an ISI release, which means dissecting it for the sounds is not an option. Not sure it fits the bill anyway as this model uses a V6 and not an inline 6. IMHO they sound very different.

The ISI GTR is a V8. Wouldn't you want to try and use the 370z?

    Minibull,
I was not aware of that [GTR being a V8]. Unfortunately it's the same problem, the 370Z is a V6 and made by ISI, which means getting to the actual sound components is impossible [for me at least]. TBH, the sound is completely different anyway. The 1st Gen Z's have a sound very much their own.
I put out a call over on a very large Z owners club website to see if anyone there might like to volunteer to help me gather up the needed recordings to make a new sound pack.

Nissan GTR is an INLINE 6 always has been, and also ISI say, all their content is available to use, If you wish, onlly V8s produced in the early Z cars , were the "SCARAB", which used an Alloy 5.4 or 4.4 litre(opyional) Nissan V8....just a note from an owner of a "z" for 30yrs.......a 240z driving towards you with triple carbs, and interior sound, just like a high reving V8, but exhaust sound is of a very high reving 6 cylinder, as it goes past you. Redline in my car is 8200 RPM. 395BHP
