@Art_Pereira Would the Wireframe of the Helmet be helpful? If yes, i can upload it here. @[ODS]Arnaud Is it the same Helmet for all GTPC Cars?
@Art_Pereira It seems to be the same Helmet for all Cars. Here is the Wireframe in 2048 x 1024 from the Mazda 727 Helmet. If it's not the needed one, please inform me.
Thank you very much!! I have the motivation, but not much free time. Still have to finish 2 cars from the 1983 24 Hs of LeMans (#21 and #47) and was planning to add some of the 956 that raced the WEC in that same year. I will see if I can get enough information as to get the 1983 helmets and driversĀ“ suits.
For the history, I planned to do more helmet (Simpson, Bell double window and so on) and I would have liked making all skins for each driver with his real helmet (which can be choosen in the upgrade)... However after the release, our motivation fell down. Everything for most accurate and historical mod!
That is quite understandable after years working with a mod. I am part of the team making Grand Prix Legends mods since 2003 and certainly felt that after some of the mods, but the fact that we made many different ones made me to go back testing, that is what I mostly did. I would say that imho the ideal mod to continue this story would be a 1988-1991 one. There Group C cars could give a great show with about 3 cars in conditions to run for a win.
I know. I have that mod and helped painting some of the cars like the 15, 17 and 57. Porsches all of them. I think there is hole between the GTPC and this mod. The fights between Jaguar and Porsche, and later Mercedes from 1987 till 1989 for example.
Anyway, I think we need follow a different strategy to choose the car (even if it is definitely great to have a large field for 1983 and 1984). I think we need to choose car by car which can fill largely the grid. So 962 was the perfect candidate, however 962 is a car which requires a lot of working, (I made 956 with almost all known versions at this time without test version or wind tunnel model), I begun to list all versions of 962 and it is just an hell. Some others candidates were a car serie (XJR-6/8/9/12 or XJR-10/11/16) even if I think transforming a XJR-6 to XJR-8 is easier in my head than in the real life . I think to Tiga and Spice which are available in C1 and C2 too.
I can understand you very well. Anyway things should be more simple. We are currently making the 1971 Sport Prototypes mod. I did a lot of research on the 917 versions, and with the exception of the few LH versions that raced at LeMans, the 917Ks were different from race to race, and even were different the JWAE Porsches from the ones of the Team Salzburg/Martini Racing. So we made different versions for the LHs but we made a compromise with the Ks: we choose the versions that raced in the last races of that year, which made our work easier. In the case of the 512s, we only made 2 versions: the one that came from Maranello with the late season engine, and the Penske one, which had more BHPs, among other differences. To start with, I would discard the 962 IMSA versions as well as the Jaguar IMSA versions.
Aaaaah noooo. IMSA version is so.... great! As Joest 1992 and 1993 ones . Anyway I'm full retired from modding now.
