Graphics - Your FPS - What settings? Any issues?

Just thought this might be a useful thread.

I guess if we follow the same format, it'll make for easier reading.

PC Spec:
i5 2500k @ 4.4ghz
16gb ram
2x GTX580 in SLI
3x 23" IPS monitors @ 5760x1080
standard sata hdd (not ssd)

Controllers:
Fanatec CSR-E Wheel
Thrustmaster Shifter
SLI-Pro-buttons as sequential shifter
Fanatec CSP (pedals)

Game Settings:
5760x1080
2x AA
4x AF
HDR: Off
Multiview: Off
Windowed: Off

In-Game Settings:
Everything max except Shadows (High), Shadow Blur (Off), Bottom two options (Off)

10 cars on track inc me

FPS:
60-70fps in Old F1 cars around Old Spa
50-60fps in Renault Megane around Mills
20-35fps in Renaul Megane around Mills (rain)

Issues:
Some shadows seems to 'wipe' on and off as you drive near them.
Replays in 'pits' are in super-wide mode, but showing in a normal widescreen box, so all distorted.
Seemlingly low fps - but sure that'll get fixed. (comparing only to pCARS at the mo, as other sims are out-dated now!)


Side Note:
As a side note, I'd like to add that I got the same feeling driving rF2 that I did the first time I drove rF1 - Fantastic. I can really see the potential in this fantastic sim, and I can't wait to test it more, find more issues and help push it forward to becoming THE driving sim. Great work ISI.

 

It looks like the beta is poorly optimized in temrs of framerate! There are a lot of framerate drops...

 

That's to be expected I suppose. I think it's pretty good compared to a few other games - even released ones.

 

FPS is much better than i hoped for.

 

Needs some work indeed. But Beta's are never fully optimized .

 

Seems like HDR is broken on my PC. Everything is overlit.

HD6850 ATi.

 

Its not the HDR, i have same problem with my ati, its the option where is VSync, there is one option what makes my screen overlit.

If remember correcty that was something named lighting or so. When i enabled it my graphics goes very overlightning and crazy.

 

I had the same HDR issue... I installed beta 12.1 driver. I doubt however that's it's the new driver. The setup probably reset some settings to default. Anyway, the HDR is now ok.(even though is still seems a bit too much but that's taste.)
edit: and VSYNC is ON.

 

How do you see your fps? Do you have to use fraps?

 

I use fraps, but you can hit the F key to see the in-game fps.

 

Dont get too disheartened; Low framerate is one of the perks of beta testing any game. Just woke up and are downloading the installer now and have a similar system except 1x 580 and 930 @ 3.8 so will compare how the framerate is. Just curious though if you've tried it without SLI enabled?

 

Can I do that and keep it over 3 monitors?

I'm not disheartened - the opposite. I think ISI have made a great game, that many companies would just release as is. Fantastic. It just needs tweaking and more mods to make it properly great.

True didnt notice you had 3 monitors... I still think you can run 3 monitors off the 1 card, i just have seen a few games recently that have had issues because of SLI so thought it might be worth a try. Im still waiting at the purchase screen - seems the system is getting hammered lol.

 

Alex, which Nvidia driver are you using? I only get about 20fps in sli with triple or single screens, if I disable sli I get between 85 and 150 fps from a single gtx580 on 1 screen!?! I have a 2500k at 4.6 so pretty much the same setup as you ...

Can anyone confirm that running a second card makes NO difference whatsoever to frame rates?

I'm running dual ATI 5870s with the latest drivers. Turning crossfire on doesn't have any effect at all (though tbh, I wasn't expecting the beta release to utilize a second GPU).


I have to admit I'm very disappointed with the graphics optimization. I can run F12011 across 3 screens (6024x1200) with everything on full and my FPS never drops below 60.

With the beta rF2 if I have a grid of 20+ Meganes on screen with all graphics on full my FPS drops to 10-20.

I know this is only a beta. Hopefully this will be improved greatly over the coming months.

Phenom II 945 x4, 2.8ghz
4GB Hyperx DDR3 ram
Radeon HD5750 1GB with the second-most-recent Catalyst drivers

My OS:
Windows 7 x64 Ultimate

My settings:
1280 x 1024 (my cheap monitor's max resolution)
Settings: All turned as high as they'll go save AA and AF, which are at level 2 each.

Experience:
With the 60s F1s in Monaco in the rain I got playable framerates all the way around the track. This was with 10 cars, I've yet to try more.

Issues: The cars have a little bit too much glare and there's no spray when driving in the rain.

 

I have a HD6970 crossfire setup and I get about 10fps more with crossfire enabled so scaling isn't perfect yet.
This is with Cat11.12 and profiles

HDR: ON

Ingame Settings:
Everything on max

Alone on track, 65-85 FPS on Monaco with a F1 car.

So, basically I just hope for a optimized game, the potential here is BIG!
