OMG! This and the arrival of the1975 season would be huge and put rF2 back in pole position at my house! And I would be remiss not to thank everyone that contributed in the past to GP79 in its various forms (and special thanks in advance for anyone that takes on bringing this latest version into rF2).
Got no more time to do this (young kids).... RF1 cars are empty shell. Cockpits are in a seperate object from car... In RF2 cockpit are into main car object so there is a lot of work to copy past poly to fit the main car object... So sorry to have start this without finishing it... Maybe some one can released Tyrrell or Lotus as a single car. Zonder did great work with cockpits on this particular 2 cars....
Arnao are you saying it's more simple start from 0 converting the new 1979 mod? i spoke with creators "Chequered Flagand group". we have green flag. No problem to convert it (as full credits are given). So if there are modders intresting to convert new 1979 mod for rf2 .....we want you! you are free to do. This is Chequered Flag 1979 mod for rf1: Download link
I would hope that someone would pick this up and do it justice in RF2. As Arnao mentioned, zonder was able to do some very nice work when he got involved. Being a beta tester, while the mod was being imported to Rf2, was an experience in itself. Lots of testing and conversation going back an forth. Even with all the hours invested, it still needs more and I have little doubt that at some point we will get another attempt at driving these cars.
Just finished my first psychics version of this mod with all the rF2 goodies+made first version of m29 graphics I will still make the 1975 first and then start this one
That is really really really a good news. Those '79 cars are the reason I bought RF1, You did a really nice and credible job on the '75 cars, so I can't wait to put my dirty hands on those monstruous wing cars. I recall Lauda (I think) saying that those cars were scary: the faster you got into a turn, better grip you had. You really need to believe in the invisible downforce to exit unscathed from each corner.... or fly in the woods in the attempt..
Yeah I agree with this. We have very good version of Dijon: http://www.pitlanes.com/dijon-prenois-released-on-rfactor-2/ Laptime at season 1979 was: Pole position Driver Jean-Pierre Jabouille Renault Time 1:07.19 Fastest lap Driver René Arnoux Renault Time 1:09.16 on lap 71 My laptime there is now 1.10.5 with race fuel Does anybody have any idea how much differences there is between this version and 1979 season track. It looks atleast quite same so I will use this track as reference.
This is great news your 75 mod was brilliant I am sure 79 will be just as good Cannot say how impressed I am at the amount of time and effort you put in to rf2 mods for people like me to enjoy

Hello! Bit of update. I was finally able to cure some bugs that I stopped me releasing this update. I will most likely be ready to release the LE version soon. Historic Edition will also come when I have released one update for 1975 HE and 1976 Ferrari. Im still bit testing with the rain tyres
