I really hope they do I think the latest beta update removed black screen for AMD users, while nvidia users are still getting it. With 0.42 version, I think both AMD and nvidia users (maybe not all) have black screen problem.
Yes that is the plan, there is lot's of cars to work with, so far we have Tyrrell and Lotus79, there is also Lotus80 on the last straight, and Black screen flickering to fight with For anyone who would like to try and test if he can get that black screen after our latest fixes HERE is latest update for testing (meant to be installed on base 0.42 UNRESTRICTED) it is not official update, is a work in progress built, so no need to keep it after as we will release officiall update shortly after 'black screens' are gone. Cars to try are Tyrrell (Jarier and Pironi), Lotus79 (Carlos Reutmann) Settings that are causing screen flickering : HDR-on, Player/Opponent Detail Level - Lower than Max Thank You
I probably shouldn't say this in public, but man... this mod is fun! I just nursed the McLaren around Drummond Long for 10 laps or so and had more fun than you can shake a stick at. Car shadows are disappearing way too soon (tested on build #340), but that may be due to rf2 itself and no fault of the mod itself. One suggestion for the next update: Can you please change the car class names to reflect the GP79 Mod? Right now, the McLaren is named simply "McLaren" which could lead to confusion later on when other "McLaren" cars appear for rf2, so a class name like GP79UN_McLaren would greatly help to avoid future collisions with other mods. Tested REV7 at Brianza a track where I previously suffered incessant black screens. From my initial test I can report good progress and for me REV7 is good wrt black screens. To cut to the chase at an FOV of 60 (for me black screens were worse as FOV increased) with the seat position moved back a bit I suffered no black screens with the Tyrrell. With the Lotus no black screens regardless of seat position. (Did not experiment with up or down for seats but I usually sit a little high which previously made the black screens worse.) Did not try an FOV of less than 55 yet. I'm running a GTX 660 TI 327.23 driver at default settings. Tested by starting race at bak of grid of 18 AI and raced to front. FPS were about 55 on starting grid which increased to about 77. RF2 graphic settins at max or full except for AA and AF which are 4 and 2. Thanks guys for your work and progress on this. Ran the tyrrell on Ring Tourist with REV 7 and only had one black screen. It was when I hit a curb. Front came off the ground and hit guardrail and lost front wing. I hit plenty of guardrails on purpose with no effect this time. Only black screen was when front wheels left ground and had damage. Also no more problems with BS when looking at rear of the Tyrrell. Totally acceptable for me. (99.99% perfect) Only caveat, I'm running the unstable build. I wouldn't think it would matter. Good Revision, getting better! Nvidia card

Tried this mod in unstable 339 build... and so far only 1 black screen and that was when watching replay from TV cam in the start with 20 AI's. I've been looking around with TrackIR in strange angles, doing a few races, driving behind AI Tyrell, looking at replay from both TV cam and the swingman cam, and no more black screens. Maybe everyone who are still getting black screen could try it out in build 339? EDIT: this is with 0.43 REV6 update
Huh? Better than others? Why would I think that? We all can have it? Why would we loose unstable builds? If I can report to the creators of GP79 mod that black screen flickering is gone with build 339 shouldn't I do that? Otherwise they maybe spend many hours trying to solve a problem that is caused by build 300 itself, and not their new car cockpit... But yeah I'm sorry for that (not). Sorry but I don't understand your point at all
ok sorry if you didnt understand,my bad english.. let try again.im a modder to so first thing i want to do is to test my mods in unstable build. when i saw they gona release unstable builds i was kind of happy to be able to test my mods before stable build get out im sure like you sad everyone can have it.so im sure that moders wil test their own mods in that build. so there is no point to write here if you have place where to write about b339 and you was kindly asked by ISI so if i want to check or report bug i will go there in Unstable Release Testing you can always start new tread in URT about this mod and be helpful or send PM to arnao,if you want to help
I think it's better to report third party mod-related stuff here, directly to the modder, and keep the ISI-related stuff in URT. Especially since this is not a bug report for build 339, only a hint that maybe black screen problem will be gone with next build. I'll ofc report any bugs in the URT that I think ISI should have knowledge of. But this is no 339 related bug.

We belive it is mod related problem, and so far there is no indication it could be build related, HERE is latest TEST update with fixed shadows for Tyrrell and Lotus79, you can run it in 300 or 339, and please post here

IMHO REV9 is a step backwards from REV7 which I thought was pretty darn good unless you insist on a high FOV with the seat all the way forward. Heck the Lotus was perfect. With the Tyrrell at Brianza getting black screens left and right when using FOV of 60 even when alone on track. Setting seat back alleviates black screens in my quick test. New phenomenon are annoying pitch black oblongs extending from both Tyrrell and Lotus even at FOV of 50. Two interesting observations are: sometimes pausing during black screen removes the black screen while paused (not sure about scope of this); 2. Originally black screens occurred at entrance to Curve Grande, last build at the Lemos, and now everywhere at Brianza. I know its frustrating trying to debug this but GP79 really looks good now and I must say it drives so well its replaced the Howstons for me. The Tyrrell cockpit especially looks tasty. Did you change the appearance for REV9? Thanks for everybody's work. If there's anything in particular to be tested I'm sure myself and everyone else in the GP79 community would be glad to do what they can. (Unfortunately I have no moddding skills beyond testing.)
