Hi - my dad is driving on the Goodwood Track soon and wants to learn it on the sim - is there a version available for rF2? I know there is one for rF1. Many thanks.
There is this version for AC: http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/goodwood-motor-circuit.2904/ It will give a general idea of which way the track goes but I thought it had some exaggerated cambers and Woodcote looked a little off. This is my local circuit and I've walked around it many times at the Revival meetings. My dad did a track day there with the MG car club and I did show him the version I had for AC. Couldn't really get his impressions of accuracy though as it was his first time in the rig driving virtual cars and he struggled to adapt, putting it politely!
Those motorfx and rainmaker (or rain something) tracks are all converts from rF1 or Race 07. Plenty of rF tracks are conversions from NR2003, GPL, and F1C.
Especially Goodwood with all the people going to the revival and that marvellous infield with planes and everything would really deserve a proper rF2 version. Asked about it quite some time ago here but nobody seems to have a deep enough interest in this. Imagine running that cobra through the final chicane competing against some properly updated HistorX cars - that would be magic.
The only time of year I turn into a kid 100% is when I fire up rF1 + HistorX during Goodwood. Having HistorX 2.0 + goodwood in rF2 is an almost scary prospect.
And since no one has mentioned, there has been a conversion of the rF1 track out there for rF2 since the middle of 2014.
Thanks everyone - Dad had a great time in the (expensive!) D-Type. And listen to that engine!
Its a standard rf1 conversion, i dont believe its very good and real road isnt there unfortunately :-(
Hi Marc, I've loooked high & low for the RF2 Goodwood track - any ideas where this can be downloaded from ?
Sorry, man, I can't even find half the tracks in the rF2 menu it's such a disorganized mess. I don't keep track of where I download things from, but it would have been one of the usual places...some of which no longer exist today Does anyone have a live source for this track?
@Woodee me too... Now I am thinking about translating Goodwood track which I made for AC to rF2, probably at first I'll just try to test what I'll be able to do, and then will see if I'll go further.
Hi, the AC version linked in post #3 is an old one. You should definitely try this AC goodwood version below: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/goodwood-circuit.17228/ This version has very accurate data based on LiDAR, you can feel all the bumps etc, probably the best version available atm. edit: nvm didnt check post date, anyway, great work to author! thanks
I've been watching a ton of Goodwood lately. Really in the vintage racing kick lately. I've been really wanting to see that AC Goodwood make it to rF2. Even better if there was a few cars to go along with it
