Hi, So, after playing the demo for a while i finnaly bought the game. The game worked fine untill i bought the GTE Endurance Pack with Le Mans circruit from steam. After the installating of both mods i got an error. gMotor 2 Error Error getting stats for texture DECALSET_MAIN_ALBA.BMPError loading texture DECALSET_MAIN_ALBA for material DCALSET_GRASS6 So i thought, maybe someting wrong with the installation. Since the game isn't that big i uninstalled the game and reinstallerd. When downloading the standard Studio 397 mods i got some errors, mainly from the bought DLC. And again, when starting the game, the gMotor 2 Error. Oke, so delete again en reinstall. This time on a different SSD. Same issue. Again errors when installing the mods, the bought ones, and again the gMotor 2 Error. Installing without mods won't work because it starts the download even if i unsubscribe them. What can i do about this? Because the game won't start. It doesn't matter what circuit i load, of what car. It won't work. Gr. Paul
Could this be the first use of the 7 step rF2 trouble-shooter? Step 1 - Uninstall and reinstall rFactor 2. - Looks like you've done this already... Step 2 - Verify Steam files. Step 3 - Opt out of Beta. Step 4 - Delete contents of CBASH and SHADERS folder. Step 5 - Delete contents of player and controller json files. Step 6 - Swap controller USB ports. Step 6 - Enact satanic ritual (human sacrifice optional). Step 7 - Set fire to PC and accept the upsetting reality that you're now forced to play Project Cars on XBox for eternity.
prior to purchasing the GTE pack and Le Mans, had you installed any other mods or skin packs? Gmotor2 errors are relatively rare these days. Describe your system please as well, video card with x amount of video ram, system ram, desktop or laptop. Thanks.
I would say that this is the deciding part: When the download was corrupted in any way, you will get problems of course. Have you let steam verify your rfactor files? It normally should find corrupted files and "repair" them.
Only the Studio 397 ones wich are installing when opening the game for the first time. My system: Ryzen 5 2600 Corsair Vengeance LPX 16G MSI B450 Tomahawk Mobo Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2060 Gaming OC 6G Rig is a DD1, Clubsport V3 and BMW GT2 wheel. I did let steam verify it. It found 1 error. But it isn't always the LMP3 car, last time it was the Porsche wich gave the error. Before that the Corvette. 1. Done, done, done and so on. 2. Check 3. Never did Beta 4. I could try that 5. That to 6. I don't see the point of that but it will never hurt to try. 6. My wife didn't like that part much tbh 7. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
@Kloever Just an idea, have you tried with running rfactor 2 as administrator? Start steam only and then go to the folder ..\Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\Launcher rightclick on the Launch rFactor.exe and select "Run as Administrator". Does that change something?
In the future, whenever buying a new game, always get the base game installed and tested before purchasing any DLC or downloading any mods/skins/tracks etc. did you try and join an online race with those cars? Make sure when you boot you go to the video settings att the launcher screen and ensure the RTX is your vid card and not an AUTO Keep checking that everytime you boot as it randomly switches back. When you unsubscribe, exit steam completely. Shut it down before restarting it.
It did work before i bought the track and GTE pack. I enjoyed the racing, the FFB is amazing. But i'm a fan of Endurance so i bought the GTE pack. I never tried a online race here. But with the GPU i didn't know, will try that to.
