Hi guys, I have a problem for quite some time now, and have no idea how to fix it. The game simply returns to launcher after finishing loading track and when it should go in the garage. What I do: Start game from steam Select Single Playr from the launcher Select Race in Menu Loading screen and bar appear When bar reaches the end, the game exits to launcher, with no error message. What I tried: - delete and reinstall - delete user data and steam integrity check - running rF2 as administrator Would you have other suggestions? Thank you in advance.
How much Ram your videocard has? Which texture setting have you selected in the options? Short answer: if your GPU has only 2 or 3 GBs of RAM, and you set your texture too high, the load could excede capacity, and CTD occur.. this is at least what happen to me, I have a R9-275 with 3 GBs... they may not be enough if I put texture to high or full with a lot of AI
Thank you for the suggestion. I tried running the two x64, then I also run all four of them. No luck . Thank you for the suggestion. I have a 9700k+2070S (8 Gb).
@luchian if you've limited windows virtual memory in any way, set it back to automatically managed or whatever the default option is called.
Please upload a trace file, maybe that helps to identify the problem. https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/how-to-create-a-trace-file.62304/
All good, was only an "if" (often people with 32gb disable virtual memory in the belief it will help performance; it causes some games and apps to crash)
rF2SIMDashboardPlugin could certainly be an issue. And DeltaBest. *And TrackMapPlugin lol Anything that draws on screen - remove it. (also remove d3d9.dll or anything similar from your Bin32 and Bin64 folders) *Yet another edit: rF2PedalOverlayPlugin as well. As Bernd says, everything that's not original rF2. None of these plugins have worked since the transition to dx11.
Will give it a go, sure. What I did try before was to completely rename Plugins folder and make an empty one instead.(but maybe I went too far ). Will report back in a few minutes.
I would recommend moving out the entire Bin32, Bin64, and Userdata folders, and verifying file integrity in steam. I say 'move out' rather than 'delete' because there will probably be some files at least in Userdata you'll want to bring back - but those older plugins can leave files all over the place that can cause issues. *Don't worry Bernd, I'm in front of a keyboard and can type fairly quickly (and faster isn't always better )
Move everything that belongs to plugins and is not S397, out of the rfactor 2 installation folder. Damn, @Lazza was again faster. It's enough when 1 person helps. I'll come back tomorrow, to see if it is solved. Good luck!
YES, I AM BACK IN THE GAME! Thank you guys! It's been more than 6 months since I gave up on trying after using all my (limited) ideas .
Can you help me? I'm new to rfactor 2 and made the purchase on steam. I had an old version of the game and it worked fine. I think it was 1088. But now most of the time when I enter the game screen, it gets stuck for a while and closes the program. This happens most of the time. Sometimes it runs. I am attaching 3 txts of the logs that I made through your instructions. I appreciate that you can help me. Tks.
you have a bunch of mods, are these new or leftovers from when you had the non-steam install? I would remove everything except the stock S397 cars/tracks and start fresh. The older cars may need updates to work with the current format of rF2. Ensure that it runs in plain vanilla form. Then add new downloads of mods one at a time. Do not rely on old downloads already on your HD. rF2 has changed a-lot since the v1088 days.
Hi davehenrie. Thanks for the answer. I did some tests this afternoon. The main change I discovered and improved was to decrease the texture values. They ran more often. Probably my PC does not have a good specification for running the game. Today I have an i5 8250 8gb RAM 2gb video card. I don't know if that influences the older versions of the game. If you have any suggestions. And the updates were all on Steam subscriptions.
