I have a problem with the game freezes for 1-2 seconds and my car stops on track then resumes. Something like this: Does anyone know a solution to this problem and why it's happening? I get it on all the tracks and my fps is high. I7 920 @ 3.5GHz r9 280x 3 gig 8 gig of ram
maybe it's unrelated but i had freeze also, try this http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/20058-Game-freeze?p=281138&viewfull=1#post281138
I also have some freezes, not so long as you but for half a second or so, and it is really annoying :S
you are not alone! http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/19905-strange-freezes?p=276050&viewfull=1#post276050
Hmm check windows logs for errors? I had disk read errors (not problems with the disk, just random corruption) Worth looking, this actually needed a chkdsk /scan and then the driver (cause of issue) for my raid needed to be upgraded or at least an official non ms version used! Check mobo drivers etc. sata controller drivers and replace the windows controller with the mobo manufacturer ones. Chuckyeager has a good point, backup and reset your plr! Check cpu time, but your sys shouldn't be struggling. When did it start?
ah yes classic! Make sure you are running in game stats overlay to check. Hwinfo and rivastats server work. But some people struggle to set them up easy and opt for msi afterburner Essentially part of the same thing anyway
the pc is used only for racing. iR, AC, rf2, R3E, GSC, nextcargame win7, adobe reader, flash, java, ispeed, TS, fraps... and nothing else installled. i5 3570, 8gb, ati7950 3gb, one HDD 1TB, CSW, CSP, CSS, DSD button box, single-screen (32") and one small data monitor. (for ispeed or TS) the system was running without any issues - except the rf2 freezes. yesterday i started the sync for the GSC update (1.1 -> 1.15). after that (and a restart) i tried GSC. i got the same freezes there suddenly! ...but worse! it happend every few seconds!! after 6-8 times black screen and back in game again it ended in blue screen i started rf2 (after another pc restart), and it also was going totally crazy! did the gsc uninstall then and removed all gsc files. after that i could play rf2 for about 2 hours without any issues!!
The reason I said "odd" is they shouldn't interact like that. OT to go into it now though. OP went quiet, maybe he is too busy racing
Well, I tried disabling cpu features in bios and even cpu throttling like EIST but that didn't help... Then I closed every possible program that was running in background while I was playing and for now it helped... I still need more time to test this.
Unless he installed in the same dir, they can't interact (or try to). Assume he had a dll, possibly a plugin, that shouldn't have been there. But again, he has to have mixed up rf1 engine stuff with rf2 stuff, for them to affect each other AT ALL. And I frankly don't think that's what happened.
status update... in the first moment - after i had uninstalled GSC - rf2 seemed to run without problems. but there where only a few hours until the black-screen problem occurred again. as a last consequence i have completely reinstalled win7 (64bit) now, updated it, installed the latest drivers and BIOS version. after that i run diagnostic tools for RAM, CPU and GPU without any issues. so far, iracing and rf2 are the only two racing-sims installed. ...the problem persists! i´ve joined a practise-session on a RD trainingsserver yesterday and had a black screen after a few minutes driving. the win-log told something like: display driver stopped working and had to be restored. I have a XFX Radeon HD7950 Black Edition, 900/1375MHz, 3GB DDR5, 384bit Driver version is 14.4 i fall into dispair :-( btw. about 2 hours iR so far - without any issues
Yours is a different issue to the OP. Graphics driver 'crashing' and black screens was, I thought, limited to nVidia. I had one just a couple of weeks ago, first for a long time in rF2, used to get them fairly frequently in rF1 and know people who switched to AMD almost purely to avoid them. No idea why it's still there after a full reinstall etc, but I'd hazard a guess it's not widespread for AMD users.
