Game freeze when driver disconnect

    The "leave lag" issue is still present, rF2 freezes when someone leaves the server during a multiplayer race. This can easily ruin a race. Here is a clip from a recent twitch stream (Oct 21st, 2022):

    Some suggested lowering the internet connection speed in rF2 settings might fix this in most cases. Is this still the generally accepted solution?

    Maybe there should be an optimization similar to the "yellow car" showing when someone joins the server and the loading of their textures is delayed.

    It's present, but it doesn't always happen. So it continues to be difficult to pin down.

    On connection settings, the recommendations were something like 64 or 128kbps at the time; the minimum now is 1Mbps. If that theory holds any water then you should get improvements by limiting to reasonable values (maybe 1-10Mbps), rather than having it set on LAN. The server admin could also set a limit per client to trial the same remedy.

    I had the large exit lags (~1s) in a recent race and I know some cars had different upgrades (Customize menu) to me, and that's 1 known cause from the various posts and threads. But as evidenced by those same threads it's not the only cause. (and also won't always cause it!)

    I would caution against putting too much weight on posts from 2016/17 - that's so many builds ago, some even still DX9, that you can't depend on any correlation with current builds.

    2 things I'd point out as things to test:
    - Jimmi mentioned in that last thread the "Assign Parking" setting on the server multiplayer.json. I believe that's true by default, maybe try false to see if that makes any difference.
    - An unlikely cause, but an example of a 'random' setting that could cause performance issues/stutters - I sometimes see recommendations to run the game with "+trace=2 +traceflush" parameters, either as part of having traces to solve issues or to reduce/remove the game exit delay. Traceflush, basically by design, will introduce some delay in busy moments where things are being written to the trace file (instead of 'sending to the file' and moving on, it will tell the system to commit those changes to the file before continuing - doing that many times in a short time can introduce stuttering, depending on many factors like hardware and OS settings). So I'd avoid using +traceFlush unless your game is crashing and you're trying to diagnose it.

    Have another issue within the stable build since the friday (21st october 2022) update. Maybe this is also a thing within RC:
    Leavelag when LMP2 is leaving server.
    I've checked my stream of a multiclass race that took place today (22nd october 2022) within LFM.
    Carclass: LMP2 & GTE
    Track: Road America
    Every time a LMP2 leaves the server, there was a lag and 2 leave messages were shown within messagebox in the lower left corner (Message 1: xxx has left the race but vehicle has been stored in the garage | Message 2: xxx left the race)
    When GTE leaves the server, then there was no lag and only 1 message were shown (xxx has left the race but vehicle has been stored in the garage)
    I've checked an race from 18.10.2022 and when a LMP2 were leaving at this race, only 1 message appears and no lag.
    I think this changed with update on friday 21.10.2022 (Bearbeitet)

    io ho lo stesso problema in offline, con le Btcc sul circuito di Donington, la schermata si blocca per un secondo e poi riparte, ho già disinstallato già 3 volte il gioco ma le cose non cambiano, io ho un Pc i9 con scheda video 3070 non credo di avere problemi particolari visto che quando funziona ho un fps di 120/140 tutto questo è capitato dopo l'ultima build, altra cosa non mi fa più accedere alle competition dice che l'upgrade non è corretto, mi passa la voglia di continuare su questo sim...
