G25/27 horrendous rattling

I will say right now the FFB is extremely direct. There's are no faked effects, so those options to adjust ripple strip settings are gone. We currently have no way to distinguish them from the normal driving surface right now. The only real way to reduce this is through the "Steering torque filter=" it won't completely eliminate the issue, some solutions for off-road may be found in time as well.

Try lowering the "car specific FFB mult" setting in the controller screen (it only appears after you've selected a car I think).

Thx for you answer. Will try that. Hope in the future it can be fixed. :)
Can you maybe explain what the FFB Multiplier does? :)

That doesnt effect it. :)

Very bad news for me. I can only play when the kids are sleeping. I changed the G25 for a G27 only because it is quiet. I was hoping for real feel force feedback right at the moment. Hope there is a way to solve this. Disapointed thread.

Is it right, that there will be no official fix for that?

Other Teammates on our voiceserver are unable to hear their own car, cause the ffb of the others is so loud... and i think my wheel will rattle my monitor off the desk!

Steering torque filter="32"

in this way i can play.
32 is no good, if 4 gives you about a 5.5ms latency, 32 would be over the roof. Put it to 4, then In your profiler or controller settings, back the overall strength back to 99, turn off damper and spring. see how it goes then.

+1 on the loud rattling noise over curbs and grass (G25).
This really is a problem.

Is this caused by tdf bumps?
If so, i would consider changing them.

I have just sold my G27 and had a G25 before that, but have come across this loud rattling before when the damping is set to 0% in the Windows CP or the Logitech profiler ... upping it to 10% or 25% seemed to get rid of the sharpness of the rattle, but does take away the responsiveness of the wheel a bit.... it happens in F1 2011 and TDU2 with damping at 0%.... both sorted by tweaking the damping setting and allowed me to play without waking the house up.

Just upgraded to a T500 ... WOW! what a difference in feel .. and no rattle... so this could be another solution..

Basically what I believe the Steering torque filter does is average out the last Nth frames of feedback, if its set to 1 it will average out the last frame, if its set to 32 it will average out the last 32 frames. But thinking that smoothing the last 32 frames is good, does not work because, it has to recalculate all that info which in turn causes latency. It's a complicated thing to understand and those figures probably don't equal what is exactly happening, but I think as an average idea, that is probably the best way to explain it.

When I tested it, I started with 12 and it felt a bit spongy, backed it off to 8 and it still felt spongy, not much difference between 12 and 8 to me though. Put it down to 1 and it was quite rattly. Put it up to 4 and it felt quite perfect. Backed it off to 3 and it was very rattly again. Tried 5 and too spongy. So for me, 4 seems to suit best.

Guys, note that FF behaves such rough for Megane but not for F1'67 cars. At least to me F1 car has very good ff.
Looks like it depends on suspension and tyres dumping. But yes, it is overdone on Megane, I can confirm.

Well, if it helps here's what I'm using:

Steering torque filter="4"

In my G25 controller setting I have:

Degrees of Rotation: 900
Overall Effects Strength: 50
Spring Effect: 0
Damper Effect: 10
Centering spring is enabled and set to 80% (I like a bit of centering force)

Still a bit of a rattle, but quite acceptable for me. Your mileage may vary...
