GT3 v forza wheel?
I've just gone for the GT3, awaiting delivery...GT3 v forza wheel?
Are the Logitech G25/G27 gear-driven wheels cosidered obsolete?
Is it that an unfiltered FFB input doesn't translate well on a gear-driven wheel, vs. belt-driven; or is there something else in rF2 related to the latest/greatest/most-expensive belt-driven wheels, other than some built-in physical dampening, that makes those wheels "superior" with the current beta releases of rF2?
I reinforced my conclusion by going to the Logitech website to investigate the forums and report the problem. Of course I learned that I'm just the latest in a long line of people who have already discussed and complained about the issue. Just go to their support forums and do a search on g27 deadzone. The sad/disturbing/aggravating thing is that a Logitech Product Team member replied in one forum that the deadzone is required to keep the two motors from fighting each other. While this may be true it seems like it would be possible to fine tune it to a smaller zone. Further bitching about Logitech's pathetic response solicited no more Product Team replies. (surprise surprise!)

Logitech:
=============
"The reason this deadzone exists is because there's a tiny bit of space that's needed to keep the dual feedback motors from interfering. You'll only feel this deadzone in limited situations when there's no feedback effects being played on the wheel, and when racing, these situations are effectively nonexistant.
While we can update the firmware in the unit, we wont take the deadzone out. It's actually ideal for the performance of the unit."

And even though they "can update the firmware in the unit", apparently they've chosen not to.
You know nikos, you can get a Fanatec GT3 RS v2 with pedals and 2 shifters (H-gate + sequential) for under $300.
Isn't that what the G25 cost when it came out?
Yep, it cost me 270 euros if I remember well, you got me into thinking now, trying to resist it though
Thanks for info Mike![]()
you can directly connect the Logitech G25 or G27 pedals using the optional pedal adapter.
BTW my the first wheel was Guillemot FF Racing Wheel (with Ferrari Logo). This wheel was belt-driven. And it was 12 years ago. Really nothing new with this technology.

That was my first 'real' wheel. That wasn't older than 12 years? I had a Mansell branded wheel (Speed 3, Logic 3 or something?) on Amiga, and a bunch of others before it, but that was my first FF.BTW my the first wheel was Guillemot FF Racing Wheel (with Ferrari Logo). That's what we've been trying to tell them. You can't compare the FFB of rF2.
If you "fix" it for the Logitech wheels, you are "nerfing" the FFB for the rest of us.
Good point Tim. People have no problem spending $500 on a new video card to play their favorite games, or a new CPU, etc...
But they draw the line when it comes to older wheels??
That's a little hypocritical.
I bought a new wheel for rF2 because I wanted to feel the full FFB. IMO, it's just as important as upgrading your video card or CPU.
