Will Windows 8 work well in a laptop with 4GB of RAM only? And also this laptop only has 64MB VRAM! So, will Windows 8 work well in this less than ideal environment?

    It runs on tablets..... ;)

The tablet Windows 8 OS is a slightly different version, but Win8 scales itself to the hardware very nicely. It should run very well on those specs.

That is encouraging news. Nothing I have done has resolved the 'stuttering' around bends and so I will give Win8 a try. I figure the system I have should be able to handle rf2.
If I install Win8 on a partition of the same PC, will I need a new rfactor activation?

I think it's around 1.6 GB? You've convinced me to install it, lets hope I don't regret it. The biggest thing for me was that it doesn't expire untill Jan 2013...lots of free OS in there.

    Tested it last Night.

No difference for me. But maybe the reason is that i allways keep my system clean and didnt have any really problems with rf2 and Win7.

Should be building a new system soon , so if I use the prerelease of V8 what happens when it gets released can I just buy a licence and carry on using it or does it need to be reinstalled . Probably a dumb question but just don't fancy having to set up a system twice .

You will most likely have to reinstall the final RTM version. It's rumored to be coming out at the end of July.

With this latest build or the last public build?

rF1 is working on latest build 8400 Release Preview.

Well, to bad; it doesn't work for me, the W8. Tried everything, still is worse than W7.
I gave it a shot, was worth it.

Found some extra drivers that helped out a bit and did wonders for W7, so I had a good time anyway. :)

I can get rF1 to work on win8 x86 just fine. x64 just will not run. Seems like something with trymedia.
