Hi, Stefan here, my first post at this forum here and I'd kindly like to ask for some support. Since recently I reinstalled rf2 I'm having freezes while I can hear the car moving on and feel ffb. When hitting esc the game crashes to desktop. I read across the forum and tried this and that (verifying via steam, new install of wheeldriver, unsubscribing and resubscribing of content). Sadly it didn't help at all. I also opted out beta and run v1119 now. I attached some trace files and would be pleased, if some of you might have a look. It looks there are problems with opening shaders MAS files and not finding some files. thx
Are you running some fanatec software? I think there were people who were having crashes when it was running, I'll see if I can find the posts.
Yes, I'm having all racing equipment by fanatec and therefore i use driver 328 and firmware 627, newest supporting my csw v2.
Traces indicate something external, hopefully Coutie or someone can identify a wheel/driver issue. For info, if you opt out you should be on build 1120. Don't select a build number in steam.
@fischhaltefolie Just for a test, before you start rfactor 2, please rename the folder ..\Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\UserData into UserData_Backup for example. Then start the game, select only the correct graphics card in the config, start the single player, don't change anything and click "race". Does it crash again? If yes, upload the trace again. The 3 above uploaded trace files all end at different Situations, so it's hard to say if the problem is caused by the game itself.
Hi @Bernd, I did as you suggested and just tried go to settings to bind controlls, when game crashed again. Tracefile provided. Thanks to all for their support.
This time the last line in the trace is 77.28s hwinput.cpp 7867: LOGISDK Initialized in HWInpu That points to a problem with your controler, i would say. Maybe @Coutie will post more informations, as he has said before. What is a bit "strange", is that the line says LOGISDK, because you had written that you use a fanatec controler. But maybe that is normal. Or do you maybe use a logitech mouse or keyboard? When exactly did it crash? Did you assign an action to the wheel/pedals or the keyboard when it crashed?
Yes, I'm using a Logitech G502 mouse. I just entered settings menu but did not asign any functions yet.
@fischhaltefolie Can you do another test, where you disconnect all controlers like the fanatec wheel/pedals and leave only the mouse and keyboard connected, before you start the game? Maybe that helps to better identify the problematic source. And if it still crashes, do you have the possibility to use another mouse?
@Bernd, keeps on crashing with wheelbase and logitech mouse unplugged. Maybe I can bestir to make a clean win install, soon. Thanks anyway
I was getting odd mouse behavior after this last win10 update. I would be in a game and the mouse would freeze, or rather lose focus. I'd have to right click or hit the esc key to bring things back to the game. It was like the Win10 desktop was trying to move to the front. I re-installed my mouse and sound drivers for my motherboard from the MSI support page and haven't seen it again, but that is only last night and this morning of gaming so far. So find your motherboard's website and download as many drivers related to the usb ports, sound, chipset. install them all. Many of them will be older than what win10 plugs in, but certainly are more time tested.
I'm still running 1909, but I'll give it a try. Meanwhile I deleted Fanatec drivers as recommended here, but same result.
so guys, absolutely fresh install, first attempt, same result. If you don't have any ideas, I'll have to quit.
This time you have the "onFatalError 11" message as last line in the trace, that appears in different cases unfortunately. Which car and track did you use? And can you please remove/deactivate the FanaLEDsPlugin_x64 plugin, just for testing?
