Apparently, I have a hard time getting used to this new forum, must be getting old.

would it be possible to create a classic look theme?

Sorry if this is a silly question: have you tried selecting the orange theme in preferences?

of course, but then it all just gets red, and different things is still blue.

If I could get the theme files I wouldnt mind trying to make a classic theme.

found my own solution.

Firefox plugin "css override" and using own css.
Not perfect, but works ok.
