Anyone got any tip on setup for these cars? I mean, i drive the 86s, 90, 91s and stuff, heel and toeing them of course, but with these 88 cars it seems that whenever i need to go lets say from 3rd to 2nd, the moment i release the brakes, the car spins, even if i match the rev with the gás. Aside from that (maybe its just that im lacking the skills here, but i do drive lots of these older f1 cars, but my main sim was Assetto Corsa, im comming to rFactor2 now) the mod is superb, really takes you back to that Golden era.

If you come from AC you need to give it time, AC is very "driving friendly" so you need to get the feel again with rF2. It happened to me, went for AC for some months (rF2 is my number one sim) and when i came back i looked like an amateur... :D

Thanks for the input. Yeah, i see that in the end its a matter of diferente physics and get used to the behaviour of the cars. Im getting more the feel of rFactor, its incredible how you can catch the rear, i mean fix an oversteer with greater precision compared to AC. Lots to learn but tons fun :)

I'm at work so I don't have my list of bookmarks with me, but you need to cure it via setup - I find (the ligier at least) also has a tendency to lock the rears under braking with the default setup.

I've always been reliant on downloading setups for all my sims, cause I generally don't like wasting time with setups, but luckily these 88s only take about 20-30 mins to find a good setup for.

    Hi guys,

I downloaded the mod from the Steam workshop, but I don't seem to find how to participate in the full 1988 championship in single player mode. Is it possible ?

    Thanks

Not yet, rF2 does not have a championship mode due to ISI making the decision to not include one - instead they focused solely on leagues. A poor choice really. S397 have hinted at a future championship package once the new UI finally gets released (if the championship package isn't already included in the new UI. Details are not know to me, I could be wrong.

As above, although you can just do each event individually and use the RF2 Log Analyser to log the points.

I've done quite a bit of googling about pit stops/refuelling and tyre changes for AI and what can be changed by mods, but I'm still unsure.

Is it accepted that if you have pit stops on then the AI are going to refuel in stops?

Ideally for this mod the AI should start with full fuel and only stop for tyres. But they are refuelling when they stop for tyres. I could live with this but they are also filling to the brim with fuel when they get tyres, rather than just fuelling for each stint which means while they have similar pace to me in the early stages, as the race reaches the end, I am light on fuel and five seconds a lap faster than them because they are driving around filled to the brim like fuel tankers..

Anything I can do, besides me copying their fuelling which isn't fun, I don't want to drive a heavy car all race.

Just to throw this out there I've completed one 1988 F1 season using the cars and tracks in this pack and I've started a 1992 season (at Monza now) Using the 1988 tracks and ASR 92OWC set. I use the log analyzer for my seasons and it keeps better records than most in game championships. I have my post process set to low always and haven't had much trouble.
