Nice car, Thanks.
For anyone wondering, this is a bug that came in after the last edit before release. They already have a fix, but is not released yet.
For now, the only downside is that you can't drive it on nords or a rally track. Shame for the ones that wanted to organise a race on blackwood rally course with this, but it will be fixed
I am THE "Captain Slow" of the sim' racing world, only racing offline and feeling like I'm doing OK if I can put something on pole with the AI at 100% and the aggression at 60%. I largely stopped driving the GTE cars after the BOP update that made them less manageable and made it possible to drive the GT3's quicker around all but the longest of circuits, at least for me.
This car is much more manageable for me. On a track where my best time is 1:50 flat in any of the other GTE's (although 148.9 in a couple of the GT3's), I'm doing mid 1:47s and am sure I will be going quicker yet. Running a full field of GTE's all the top times are 488s.
It was mentioned in the release notes that BOP updates would follow over the next couple of weeks. I'm hoping against hope that Studio 397 make the other cars more drivable again rather than slow the 488 down.
Having a blast with this car. Fantastic work Studio 397.
Silverstone is perfect to take off
Going to reinstall URD's Detroit. It's got something to run against again.
Just bought it after 5 mins.. its a blast ^^
I was really looking forward to this, until I found out the lack of the slip traction control, which is a key component of the physics of the car.
Considering also the poor data implementation on the dashboard, I am quite surprised Ferrari SC marketing approved the launch of the car in this form.
Unless is the other way around and they begged for having their brand out in time for the 24h du Mans event.
The Ferrari is the quickest GTE car in rF2. I'm sure that helped Ferrari approval.
The BOP hasn't been applied yet
With vers. 1.15, performance seems a lot closer to other GTE's, maybe still a bit to fast. I tried at LeMans so far only. Aero downforce is very high, but lacks on top speed. At least I had a hard time passing some Ason Martin at the long straights.
Dashboard improvements require codebase changes AFAIK, just hope one fine day.
For me, this 488 GTE is the best of all GTR/GTE cars from S397 available.
Does anybody know what is the content of this last update plz?
Ferrari 488 GTE v1.15 -
Put in a fix to avoid flipping in most situations -
Added correct gearbox ratios for the Standard package. -
Fixed fuel consumption -
Fixed rev meter in the in-car HUD --------------------
After a session at Sebring, car is great but rather unstable in cornering with current default setup which makes it rather hard to drive confidently and consistently. Seems to be a constant with default setups as the Porsche Cup is similarly unstable.
what about the steering ratio ? compared to others GTE (540-17) or default setting from ACC for the GT3, 540 - 27 is too much
I gave it a try driving it 25 laps at my favorite track, Verginia international Raceway. Wonderful car, maybe the best GTE car ( I hope the Bop implementation with ruined it ).
The new graphics features are noticeable with this new car but ... why the heck there are a lot of missing part when I go out of the virtual car to look at it from outside?! Posterior spoiler, all tires are missing and that is frankly disappointing. I don’t mind if little pieces may be missing but tires and the big spoiler?!!
Review video, for those interested.
Cool, thank you .
That's true that 6th gear was very long...
Have to reply to my posting above (#53) about performance adjustment. Looks like I used "standard" aero configuration for LeMans there. Sorry for confusion.
So seems no change in performance, so car is still about 3 sec. to fast at LeMans.
@AlexHeuskat Steering looks indeed very direct to me, it's a bit like in a formula car. Don't know, normally correct steering ratio shouldn't be a thing at all.
ATM I have quite some issues with the very pointy front, especially into fast corners, namely Indianapolis and first Porsche curve.
How can i force the AI taking the low drag setup in multiplayer mode like the other GTE?
Yeah. Depending on the track, its 0.4~0.6 fast.
