The new UI doesn't do screenshots, the old one did. Steam uses the same key (F12) and for many/most people takes over when the UI is active.

When in the car the game still takes screenshots like it always has, and puts them in UserData\screenshots like normal. And Steam takes one at the same time and puts it in its folder (assuming both the game and steam are still set to use F12).

So without steam overlay and screenshots enabled, you won't get UI screenshots.

    Hello people,
I have not entered anything in my player.json to switch the multi-threading off or on.
Also in the user interface I can't find any entry.
Where exactly should this be and what exactly is the name.
I have with the new release almost in every curve in TARGA FLORIA stutter or the graphics jumps.
With the old build does not occur, all runs smoothly.

I've asked Marcel for a far more descriptive answer that I could possibly put together, and here it is:

By default we now render the UI in a different thread from the rest of the game. In the old UI, the UI was rendered by the game, which meant that if the game was busy (say loading a car) the UI froze. The same thing now happens in the new UI except that we technically were rendering a browser that would just continue to run regardless. You did not see that though as the rendering of the UI was still linked to the game. We decoupled that, so now even if the game is loading something, or doing something else that would normally block everything, the front end stays responsive.

End result: with this option "on" it looks smoother. Simple way to check is in the track loading screen, where there is a little spinner at the top left of the screen. With this option on it smoothly rotates. Turn it off and you see it "hanging" a lot when the backend is busy. There are many other areas where you see similar differences.

Why not always do it? Good question, we've left it an option for now just in case it somehow would cause issues. We might remove the option later (which is also why it's "only in the player.json" and not something you can toggle in the in-game settings).

Did any one say what this option in player.json is called? i see nothing in player.json related to this setting. In steam i have none selected under betas im assuming that is latest release? or do i have to delete player.json yet again and let it make a new one?

    "UI autonomous render thread":true,
"UI autonomous render thread#":"UI has its own render thread",

You have to use the beta "release candidate" to get this update. Read first post.

The new textures are slick, can you guys update the rest of the tracks with the same road textures at least the roads?

Well that werks now, I have screenshots again, once I enabled the steam overlay.
Why are they making this stuff harder though is beyond me.

The previous build had a bug that was not reporting missing textures. Release Candidate now reports this correctly - the content is broken.

    Indianapolis questions.

    Q1.

    ~16:21
I think the turn6's curve is higher than reality.
This is the Harvest GP in INdycar 2020, it's very smooth.
And pitout, need more asphalt inside turn1.

    Q2.
FFB's bigger than before the update?
On the roads are rougher than before the update I feel.
    Changed mesh?

    Regards.

I think kerbs at T5 and T6 is too high.
In reality, even formula car can across it. But It's a bit scared for gt3 cars in rf2.
I know it would be tough work but hopefully, it'll be fixed.

Joined an open server (GT3) only to find out that 15 items were to be downloaded. I know one could make the argument that an open server should not be configured this way...Only way out is through task manager...this seems like such a simple fix...allow us to escape out...like before...annoying.
