Excuse my ignorance but want is the benefit of magnetic shifters? I don't know anything about them.

The standard Fanatec shifters are kind of numb feeling almost mushy , this provides a nice resistance and a definite feel that you've shifted .
This feels similar to the McLaren shifter now instead of just a weak Spring .
There is a bit of increased noise now :( but not too much , I will need to test late at night when there are no other noises to judge just how loud they are ! Well my Wife will let me know I'm sure as I use the Rift headphones so I won't hear it :p

Okay, will be interesting to here from you about the noise after you have tested it, I am looking to move over to the fanatec eco system late this year.

I now have applied a thin microfibre that you clean glasses with to the magnet and its reduced the click to about the same as standard now and the cloth is thin enough that it hasn't reduced the magnetic resistance ;) Pretty much perfect now .
