fanatec 3leds always on gear

i have try off=0 and speed=2 but what ever you put on the ini file, the 3leds allways shows gear

fanatec gt3
 
Hi, why do not you work with FanaLEDs. With this program but everything works with gear display and LEDs in RF2 even at 101 Version!

I do use fanaleds, but there are two reasons:

I just what to see speed, so i prefer the simples rfactor way, and its something less i need to do every time i re-install the game.
I cant turn off the rfactor as i sed, so i can see the speed of fanaleds, and every gear change the displays sows the gear for half a second or less.

None off this problems are realy crutial, just reporting so they could be fix in a future release.

If your using FanLed you can set what you want to see displayed on the FanLed settings including just speed. You can also set up a button on your controller to switch settings on the fly.
 
yes but fanaleds and rfactor2 bouth off them are tring to use the display as i can not disable rfactor2 3leds
 
I would imagine its in .plr under the controller section.
I don't use fanaleds so was suprised and pleased to see that my wheel started displaying the current gear. On mine (GT3) the gear stays permanently displayed which is perfect as I learn tracks by the gear which I use for each corner, why do you want to know your virtual speed? In case some virtual police are using a virtual speed camera? Anyway as I say I think gear is what you want displayed but they could have added the shift light by way of the two flashing minus signs either side of the gear. Pretty sure thats how it was in rfactor but thought it was all down to Fanatecs driver and installing the special dll for rf. Sounds to me like your Fanaleds program might be causing some conflict if the gear goes out after a few seconds.
 
There is no real conflict, just a very minor flicker of the display during gear changes. Surprised as a fanatec user you do not have FanLeds installed it does far more that display speed, also fuel, revs, speed/gear and you can switch between the various read outs on the fly. It also adds rumble effects all selectable. Latest version also remembers your setting car by car and supports an even larger amount of sims.
 
i am using "dash meter pro" for android to see my gear and other info (and have no room to dispaly speed). As you do with gear, i use gear and speed to know if i am in the correct speed during the corner.

Yes, its just a minor flicker, but it will be beter if is working :)
 
Yup I use that too, and actually I was just about to report back that I am not getting that flicker so not FanLed's causing a problem I wonder if the OP has the flash indicators on shift box ticked? and do you have the latest version installed, Gerben and Dick are adding functionality at a prodigious rate of knots. If neither of these things are the cause you can go to their web site and report direct to the Devs on their forum http://www.fanaleds.com
 
yes, i have the last version of fanaleds, but there is nothing wrong with it.

The issue is in rf2, ther is an option that is not fully working.
 
Alrightee then I'm going to take you guys advice and try fanaleds then. I have been very tight with installing anything beta or in development in addition to running rf2 beta. My machine is dedicated to rf2. It has windows and rf2 on 1 ssd, no other drives, no other progs, all windows features and services disabled unless needed. I kinda also thought fanaleds was more for the newer wheels, so was going to look at it after I sold my left nut to pay for the new wheel with both rims, and the new 6gig Radeon, some watercooling for the FX8, simvibe with 4 kickers, 3 actuators and control box, a welder, a nostromo, mini touch screen.......sure I've forgotten loads, did I say left nut? I meant both nuts and a lung.
 
LOL I have been running with it for a few months and have had no issues, the Devs are great and if, and it is quite a big if, you do have issues a, you can just uninstall and it is a full uninstall, or post the problem on their forum and as sure as eggs is eggs they will have it solved in no time at all.
 
Yeah you guys were quite right, I don't know how I coped without fanaleds. I can also confirm that it installed fine and works fine, cycles through each display and they all work, so don't know why the OPs version doesn't work. I also don't notice a performance hit which was another concern I had having read a long time ago that the original fanatec plugin for rfactor (1) killed performance.
Think I can retain a nut too having read on toms hardware that the new 6gig radeon isn't all that and I would be better adding a 3rd 6870 (1x 6870dual and 1x 6870), which is a mere £120 so I think that and the nostromo will probably make me buy them today. Supposedly having a 3rd card (core really) virtually eliminates the micro stutter you get with xfire or sli in a 2 card setup. We'll see.
 
Excellent glad you like it, yes that performance hit was due to high CPU use and was sorted out within days of it being flagged. I run a single GTX 670 so no stuttering for me :) But I hope that extra card works out for you, I to have seen the posts that claim three cards solve stuttering. Once ISI sort out SLI I think another 670 will be saved for. I hope to retain my nuts but may have to give up my right arm :rolleyes:
