    Greetings.

I have a problem with the GMT of a track. It is a single object with several materials (all roadaxxxx).

The case is that in some areas the vehicle sinks and falls into the void.

I have tried to copy all the faces, invert them, and join them to the original object without result.

What can be happening, and more importantly, how to solve it?

I don't know if it will help but I attach a screenshot of the mesh and a couple of areas where it fails.

    Thank you in advance.

your mesh might be too big. try cutting it up into smaller pieces.

@Brutten How many different Materials does the Mesh have?
Some time ago, i did have a Request from a User to try to solve the same Problem with his Track and in the End, i found out that it was caused by too many Materials getting used in the Racesurface Mesh, what caused the Car sinking into the Mesh at some Areas.
Maybe it's the same Reason for you.

@Manfredk2 Originally there were 3 gmt and it failed. I made a single object with them and it keeps crashing.

@redapg 3 materials, normal track, grid, and finish line.

@Corti is taking a look at the objects, to see if he can find anything.

Thanks for your replies. Let's see if we can document a solution.

@Brutten Does it also happen, when you load only that Mesh and the 5 XObjects?
I just remembered another User, where the Problem was a Wall, that caused the Cars sinking into the Ground at some Areas.

@redapg All objects are checked. Sometimes an object next to the track, if it has the collision mark, can generate unwanted effects.

Did you split the mesh? I would say that is probably the answer, I've had this situation before and it fixed it.

Well... it seems that it may have an explanation.

After working with @Corti online and trying everything imaginable I venture to say that GMT has some problem that we do not know how to correct even with 3dmax.

I thought I had lost the original project made in BTB but... I have found it. I re-exported the track, adjusted the material and tested it in development mode and it seems to work.

It may be a similar problem I asked about (it was an advertisement poster with animation). The solution was to use the same object provided by a mate who didn't have that problem.

The conclusion I have is that, at some point of export / manipulation, the object was damaged.

Thanks to all and especially to Corti for your interest. I think I have solved this.

Lesson: Save as much material as you can.
