Much much better in every way - congratulations on fine work. I don’t want to hold you up so you can make a start on 1987
Lol, i don't do everything from scratch and for 1987, i don't have any material (mainly 3d) to do it. Anyway thanks for the feedback Nb: 1986 season still to be done.
awesome mod! cars are even more fun than last version. AI is fantastic! you can battle them the whole race, similar lap times till the end! race starts are smooth and troublefree! thx so much to everyone involved! really looking forward to 1986 version! ..best formula1 year will donate soon!
Either I’ve lost my touch, or the cars are different, but I’m having trouble keeping the car steady in the corners; it spins out quickly. Or should I adjust the settings, if so what to change ?
I only tested the mod right for a quick (full distance) ai race and I want to say thank you it is looking like a great mod! Performance are adequate ai is fighting and there is ai retirements! Some things I found that were off, but its only nickpicking: In the menu it seems all cars have pirelli tires in the pictures On track the inside tire texture are mirrored With one day if the ai livery bug is fixed we would ne able to build each car livery for each round as an upgraded system is present for each round Again thans for all this work on the cars and tracks
..cars are different, but for me easier to drive than last version.. after a pause you have to get used to them of course. from default setup i reduced tyre pressure to lowest and raised power-diff a bit. i also reduced steering (and throttle) sensitivity in controller settings so steering is less twitchy. of course you still have to be smooth on throttle. also let AI run plenty of laps to build some rubber..
Hi, just pay attention that the tracks can be bumpy in some places. You need also to change a bit the differential values from 10 to 45 or 50%. Last but not least, i've put some low car height as a base setting to see sparks with ai. The trick is that ai uses different ride height and suspensions are simplified for AI. So, just raise a bit the ride high to avoid too much ground hitting on bumps. And of course, train your right foot, this is not a gt car Cheers
Hi @trollray, thanks a lot for your wonderful job... but the mod is 6.7 GB, could you please just remove the multiples backup in the folder (to help us saving some HD space)? Thanks again and in advance.
I know that F1 has been the focus for the tracks as well, so understandable that there is a lack of lights in buildings etc. at night-time. I did some testing for a potential Special Event at RaceDepartment Overtake.gg, where I considered running a 2.4hrs of Spa 1988 or something (Spa 24hrs). However at 18:15 in-game time on Spa 1988 and 18:55 on Spa 1986 this happens: I guess there are something that doesn't like the Belgian evening and it goes totally black.
@trollray A short little video to show what happens as well. Wish I could give you more info, but I have no idea
Good to know I'm not alone! Makes it a tiny bit more likely that it is something with the track, and not my PC.
Is the project still alive (1986)? Haven’t heard much in recent times, appreciate life comes first I’m just curious if still working on it?
Yes. To be completely fair, i still love RF2 and this project will never die( or only if i die myself lol) But, i was too optimistic concerning my free time to progress this winter. Hope to get back soon but i never will give up. Last but not least, i think that rf2 is the only sim that can actually simulate the oldies car. Specially whit the tyre engine that handle perfectly the old cars with few or no aero. Sorry for the wait
And btw, for the track problem, i didn't had a look on it now but maybe try to delete the bash files (related to some shader thing) in your rf2 folders. Make a file install check after on steam to get a fresh one. Sometime it can cause some strange graphical bug.
All good it’s a hobby/passion just work on it as time permits - can’t wait to seeing some more 1986 cars in time. Agree with your point on RF2.
