Hi everyone, I have been gone from modding for a while now, But I have been working on the F1 2022 model. I had a 2021 version based on what they showed before, but I couldn't simply change that because the new 2022 version looks pretty different in a lot of key parts compared to what would have been the 2021 car https://ibb.co/YZnT4Q7 https://ibb.co/HFD4dvk I got plenty of work left, Like mapping (even though i am FAR from great at that, honestly no idea how to do the baked effect and more) And of course some cleaning of the rear wing, that could look better. Tris count: 81.792 (without cockpit so far)
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2561872000 you have already a free F1 2021 hybrid, and even if it's made by Advanced Simulation, it's not awesome....
current rules F1 2021. My previous F1 2021 model was based on the showcased model back then when we would have switched. (f1 2021)
I would encourage @Jermaine to keep working, if for no other reason than the S397 car has a fenced rear wing. Next year's F1 rear wing is rounded & without fencing. That should make it more susceptible to losing downforce as yaw values increase.(values that would otherwise be at least somewhat mitigated by the fences on the wing.) Keep at it...
There is a F1 2022 available with FSR racing: This is my own mod, based on this car. It is an AI testing mod, which means that the cars aren't really driveable.
Until the cars begin to be presented, the FIA concept is the only one to base anything on. It is almost embarrassing how many tiny winglets, vanes, strakes etc are on the current cars. If for no other reason than cleaning up the look of the cars, I welcome this next generation. But only time will tell how this clean look survives the teams interpretations of the rules.
Even the Indycar is much more interesting than Formula 1, which has been depending more than 30 years on the car than on the driver, but when the Fia is behind applying rules according to interests... Obviously until 2022 they will not be seen, but little to do with the car of the fia
