I think I miss ISI position, as I understand whilst they happy for modders to make money they can't support it. By saying your mod is okay they would be you understand. They will have others emailing them asking the same thing like it is some sort of endorsement. As long as you do not use ISI forum for advertising or incessant links I see no problem with your or any other mod being here. Besides the bull has bolted it is too late to shut gate.
I think they mean they happy for modders to make money if the modders get a licence to do so and the cars in the pictures of real F1 cars have actualy got FISI wheels and other parts what we do not want to pay for twice .
Serious how would anyone expect modders to get licences if developers can't. What with peanuts. Then get 2 bucks a mod , that will work.
I'm repeating myself, but I await the decision of TIM by email. I'll post the answer when I have défintive response.
I give you a idea, you want a way to make money from sims, teach it. Set up a online college with courses and diplomas, teach mod making, 3D, track making, paint, audio. http://www.devry.edu/online-options/online-learning-benefits.jsp n ( see gaming ) You would not need a licence for anything.
That email was supposed to be asking for permission? I really didn't get that from it... In any case, ISI cannot give any permission for any mod which uses anyone elses IP or branding, full stop. We can never legally approve.
Hello TIM, The authorization for the use of files such as the steering wheel, motec we modify and materials from ISI. We not ask permission to make a mod ISI F1 is not ISI who can authorize it and we know it. But some people think they know everything.
@ f1ligue...you made 12 cars in a month yet you want to use an ISI steering wheel...wouldnt that take you an hour to make your own?
For copyright reasons I do not put the wheel in F1 2013 because there are official logos and is not legal. ISI asks me if not used their flying I will create the new. But I ask myself this question ... why ask me to change the wheel? I have no problem with isi to this Thread ...
Physics files of Formula ISI are used in F1R2013 Demo MOD. If F1R2013 full mod uses same physics files and ISI doesn't give the permission to use these files, you have to create new physics files for your payware. It's very tough work . Anyway I'm looking forward to playing F1L2013 full mod / payware. Keep up the good work.
you know I've read that 24 hours of posts that will pay my mod. He has been free, nobody would talk about rights ... People should understand one thing that mod either free or paid must respect the rights of authors. We mods since 2008 and we have never had a problem of law because we always respect the work of others. But I read regularly that we not get the same thing from people ...
f1ligue gosh people give you a hard time, i think your doing a fine job, cant wait to see all the cars on track as the artwork is top work, let us know any changes to physics in future keep up the good work & a big thanks for sharing the demo (-;
Physical side of the car I think we have created something not too bad knowing that is still in BETA rfactor2 must not forget it. We will correct the physical ISI when will updates (ex = KERS)
you made the 3d body of the car like real ones... but with the option to download the "illegal" liveries... you could do the same for the stering wheels... no logos on it. would have been nicer to have different wheels for each car. anyway... i wait for the full mod and some user's opinion. good job!
Thank you for your comment. We will do our best to output the mod which is scheduled for tomorrow if all goes well on our side.
