Hello! I started to conversion F1 2002 Season for rFactor 2. The choice fell on him, because this is the first season that I went for the first time on the PC)) I do not think it will be a top class - I do only the first steps in the modding. Day by day: Day 1: Converting all model. Day 2: Visual change of rubber compounds for all tires. Day 3: Physics is ready, fix some bugs, release first beta. Day 4: V1 released Thank you my friend @KoshaPashkin for the provided screenshots Changelog for v1: - Ferrari gmt's problem in the garage fix - All new sounds - New more realistic physics - New tire sidewalls for Michelin and Bridgestone under RFactor 2 standard - New Minardi and Sauber wheel - Many small bugs have been fixed Changelog for v1.2 (public release was canceled): - New shaders for all cars - New physics (LE only) Changelog for v1.3 (including changes v1.2 too): - Some textures bugs fixed - Physics fixed - Multicomponent not use more
Drives good, but I feel like the cars are a bit too quick. I had a feeling of too much tyre grip for grooved tyres. This resulted in me doing a 1:23 around Albert Park in a Minardi. Pole Postion for the 2002 Australian GP was Rubens Barrichello's 1:25.843, so I was 2 seconds faster than pole on my first flying lap. You also need to configure the Attenutation in your SFX files, it has the same issue my 1999 mod had which is no distance in sound, so you could hear a car on the other side of the circuit like it was right next to you, which was migraine-inducing with all cars on the track. I use this in my 1999 sfx files. // ATTENUTATION EngineAttenInside=(1.0, 0, 1.0, 0.021) EngineAttenOutside=(1.0, 0, 1.0, 0.011) ShiftAttenInside=(1.0, 0, 1.0, 0.021) ShiftAttenOutside=(1.0, 0, 1.0, 0.011) OtherAttenInside=(1.0, 0, 0.5, 0.021) OtherAttenOutside=(1.0, 0, 0.5, 0.011) Stole it from Formula ISI.
Many thanks, SL1DE! Sounds are bound to be corrected! Physics will also be changed, I found an option)
Just watched a youtube video of Kimi and his first qualifying outing 2002 at Albert Park and my impression is, that the session was under mixed conditions with less than great track conditions. Not saying you are wrong, but track conditions and the layout itself can have a big impact on lap times. Pole lap in 1999 was a 1:30.5, so I think the 99' cars are a bit too fast. But keep in mind that traction control was allowed in 2002 wich had a big impact on lap times.
1:23.529 by Sebastian Vettel in 2011. Fastest of the V10 era was 2004 with Michael Schumacher - 1:24.125 on lap 29 of the race. The rare moment where the fastest lap of the race was faster than the fastest qualy time. Qualy time was only a 1:24.408.
I just gave the mod a quick try at Matsusaka GP, awesome job so far. A bit of feedback: The AI is around 9 secs. per lap off my pace. Looking at their behavior I'd say it could be some sort of tire issue. They suffer severe understeer on corner exits and slows down dramatically. Looking at the AI tire wear, it's quite extreme; they wear their hard compound tires 6 times faster than I do. I feel my car (Renault) is glued to the track. Nowhere did I have to feather the throttle, not even in the slow hairpin or the last chicane. Was the traction control back then really that effective?
