I've been struggling with the frame rate over the last two days. I wasn't able to get over 40 fps at Spa and experiencing lots of stuttering. Last night when I shut my computer down, I see there are 4 windows updates installing. Today, I turn the computer on, start rFactor 2, go to Spa and....incredible, 90 fps solid. Has there been an update I missed? I don't understand it. I'm not complaining! I'm so happy!

    BTW, I run windows 7 64.

Most likely a driver update was bundled in with the rest of windows updates, I believe windows update is capable of that

Probably a new WHQL video driver refreshed some problem you were experiencing. MS does release compatibility patches from time to time but they're not going to release one of those for a beta.

the day i installed rfactor 2, there were indeed some updates to windows.
i can't relate those to good/bad performance now and then.
    it's the same.

ummm or maybe it is just the fact that this is still Beta Stage at this moment ...? rFactor 2 is still in development so the result is that it's still not running at 100% Preformance, Quality whatever you wanna call it ...

I had similar happen to me with the updates. I thought it was just the cold boot the following day that improved performance, but maybe it was'nt. It was very jerky at first and even crashed first time I ran it (I had everything on max) Now its much smoother, and hopefully will be 60fps by the time the betas finished :)

    This worked for me too!!!!

I was running just one screen @ 1680x1050x32.

I was getting VERY low frame rates, especially at Mills.

I updated today and tried again, and although I have vsync on, its steady at 60hz/60fps without drops!

I tried 3 screens as well and its at 50 fps, but as low as 30 ( time for an upgrade though, not RF2's fault there)

    AMD HD6870
    Core2Duo e8500 @3.83 Ghz
    4GB Patriot DDR2

    Thanks for posting this!!

Nothing was released from ISI, but I too got a new video card driver in Windows Update in my wifes machine. Please folks, if you haven't already, check your drivers are up-to-date.

Oh sweet, ill try the updates thing today. Wasnt really getting alot of stuttering (video lag) but then again im not trying to run rf2 in high detail tho. But its worth a crack if I can get it to run in better quality. Thanks for the post and feedback to the post guys, awesome ;)
