Hi, I have the "Track Technology" PDF paper and I am trying to understand the "levels" of various maps to make a "RealRoad" texture properly... Problem is my understanding isn't good enough with old textures to apply from first principles with the document alone. Does someone have a set of example textures to use as a starting point... I am trying to grab textures from the tracks we have been given but haven't seen an "obvious set" to grab yet. Im thinking 1_ExampleRoadTex_DiffuseMap 2_ExampleRoadTexMultiMap 3_ExampleRoadTexNormalMap 4_ExampleRoadTexRaceGrooveMap 5_ExampleRoadTexSpecularMap 6_ExampleRoadTexMarblesMap 7_ExampleRoadTexReflectionMap If someone could post a set that would be very helpful. Cheers Simon
Take a look at the following Joesville textures: Track_Main Asphalt_MULT Track_Main_NORM RaceGroove Asphalt_SPEC Marbles Can be anything, just make sure it is set to use the REFLECTEDENV reflection mapper and Live Mapper is enabled in the material settings Hope that helps ...
Not sure what you mean by the REFLECTEDEVN mapper... can you explain. Cheers (and thanks for the lookup of textures)
The REFLECTEDENV contains the environment reflections. The process of setting it up is described in the document.
