A first hdr test. I'm not sure if I like the billboard trees. At some places they appear way to dark, the 3d trees on the other hand glow like a candle. I can compensate that by reducing the direct light ( Sun T Lum) and increase gamma, but the result could be better. I will do some experiments with auto exposure and wait for the tree shadows. I have modified the grass texture. The alpha channel was to bright (allmost white, it is now light grey) which results in a dark bluish grass under full sunlight.
Isn't the better solution to fix the problem at the source instaed of trying to mask/fix it with HDR tweaks? I am sure Babs would prefer to do things the right way, even if it's a bit of extra work.
Not sure if Babs and Mario can fix this. It depends on how these billboards react on the light sources and I see this on other tracks too. You can see a good example of the dark trees on the pic below. Anyway, there is a bump in my braking zone.
The trees are not in 3ds MAX. I will try import the BB trees to max and set the right settings.. also need some trees shadows.
The bump is intentional! I add a little camber to road that go the right but need to fix the smooth. The idea is to add more difficulty and irregularities to road.
If you look at the bulbs in the lights, they are yellow.... good ole bug lights. I think the pic is great.
just depends on how the light hits tree. I used trees ISI, this is not editable. I think that in the future this will improve with updates Sim RF2. I would say that while we can release the version to get feedback from everyone. Maybe when RF2, will be the gold version can do final update. Babs
that can be many years from now... I would very much like to enjoy current version (progress made since last release) while we're waiting
I would like to preserve the character of the track. It is "Essington Park", not "Dark Forrest". In my opinion the look of the trees is completly messed up in the newer builds. Here is a screen how it should look like. Check the shadows on the 3d trees.
I understand but if you look at the two shot,to Essington the sun is behind the trees to Mills is against the trees. I do not have a solution for this, let's see what it says Mario. Then I think that when the track is put in Mas file in game something changes. you see this only at that point or the whole track? Babs
I import the tree. Wall trees are ok.. but 3d lost 3d trees i have only the trunk. I will try BB trees
From cockpit view (with auto exposure) the trees look ok. The same hdr settings in hood view. I don't like bb trees.
