The "almost feels like stability control" is partly due to the extra tall gearing on most of the cars. If these are all supposed to be one class that competes against each other, they have wildly different approaches/philosophies towards gears. The cars that can go 200 km/h+ in fourth gear have lower gears so tall you can't get the torque applied to the rear wheels very well, so they drive in a more docile manner. I always thought this was on purpose to make them easier to drive for leagues.

Also, if you think you have too much grip, don't look at the AI cars!!!

And yes, these have always been resource hogs...and the latest update makes it even worse.

How do they do in terms of lap times at comparable to real life tracks? I think we had this discussion already last year and they are reasonably close.

Next bug found which has allready been mentioned: The AM still has 9 engine mappings. No other car has the possibility to change the engine mapping.

One year since the last update and tons of bugs which the VEC allready has fixed in their version and you are not able to fix these things in this amount of time?

The name of the rfcmp files is exactly the same as older version. I would recommend to include version numbers in the rfcmp files. Some people are using this mod in official champs and might be easy to mess up. I just renamed my files

bug is usually something that is causing a problem. This is not, its not really advantage to the AM cars eather. Than about Ferruccion engine you mentioned. Im not sure if you look only at numbers when you play but the engine is working. Everybody comes good with that car along. I have sayed last week that there wont be engine updates yet. When i think i can make engines better and in new way for rF2 i will put them inside. Its not like we have all around explanation in rf2 and tools for everything to work with. Our team is small and im the only one doing cars ingame, 3d/2d stuff, physics work on rF2 side yet im not specialist on that i try to make everything as good as posibile but im limited to some stuff or knowledge around that. VEC probably has more people to be able to work on physics files and prepare our cars for your needs than we have and they can concentrate on this kinda stuff only.

Is that Ferruccio engine curve? If yes, the one we have is actually different so you might check on that. Im using carstats as you do and i get different values there. Not alot but different and our car reaches hp power at some point and is not falling like your version and it has more of a steady rate to over 7k RPM wich i have done on purpose to level the cars out.

The guys mentioning the impossibility to get oversteer and wheelspin at low gears:

Don't these cars in real life have some level of factory traction control? Or is it just the GT3 that do? As far as I know only Assetto Corsa models factory and different levels of car assists, so these would have to have their factory settings built in to the game.

I just want to thank URD for this update ;)

These cars are a lot of fun to drive, regardless of what your skill level is, in 2 season with this mod at F1SR we noticed that people who weren't always up front, ended up winning (multiple) races... Myself included

Personally i find it quite annoying that people just complain and don't seem to appreciate the amount of work that goes into this by a small team. Please, nobody take this as an attack, just my way of looking at things :)

Yeah I agree, the amount of complaining is a bit too much now. URD has done yet another amazing job, well worth waiting for. No one said anything about this being the very last update, did they now? Patience please, and enjoy what you have at your disposal.

The thing about not being able to spin the cars on low speed throttle application? Nonsense. Set your car up properly and drive it hard. If you're not getting 'moments' you're either not driving hard enough or the setup you're using is too far off what it should be.

Yes this is the ferruccio engine curve but zoomed in of course. This is what i see unzoomed.

But what i wanted to show in the zoomed version are the spikes/peaks in the curve. Maybe you could pm me your reference data and i could take a look at it if it is not a secret :p

I have zoomed in and i didnt get the curves like you did. As sayed, the engine is working good overall and its exactly what i wanted to get. The temperatures might need adjustments but the engine itself not at this point.

After driving this cars for a while, I can't say that I'm fully satisfied with the result. Some things improved alot, mainly on visuals.

But the thing that stands out the most to me is that, as mentioned before, the cars now have tons of grip. Last version, in the ferruccio, if I had like 4/18 on the aero, I couldn't make sebring's turn 1 without spining. And now its a piece of cake, no matter how much downforce I cut at the rear...

I'd like to buy the px mod, but after this, I'll have to think twice.

Thanks for the update. I have done most of my driving in 1.8 with Ferrucio and there has been plenty of track time in the past months. Yesterday we did 45 min race in Silverstone GT so I have something to compare to.

With the same setup I noticed more understeer than before. I'm sure of this by the way you need to drive 1st corner and the S corners. My laptime was 2,5 secs behind my yesterday's best. I did some modifications to get rid of the understeer and got to +1,9 secs.

I need some more time with setups to find out if I can get the same balance as I had before. Generally I don't have anything against cars getting slower if it's realistic and same for everyone.

I'm not sure if it was because of the understeer or because of the new tyres, but the car felt more predictable now, less snappy (easier to recover from slides)

ps. Don't notice that there would be any more grip than before as some have said.

Many Thanks Ales & URD for the work it's greatly appreciated, before I download (or get a chance to I should say!), I'm not seeing 2 very much needed fixes that were mentioned in this thread long ago that you were aware of.
So I'm hoping the "-some other small adjustmest..." means:
    - Low Opponent volume fixed
    - Damage improvement (fenders broke off far too easily before)

Can you/anyone confirm these please? thanks

  18. Actually no, until just recently we have had 1 main modder and then me. however don't excuse yourself Ales, you have been doing a good job - even though we're still waiting for UPX :)

Now don't compare a league with a mod team - takes a lot of work to create a mod from scratch - more than it does to edit it. Kudos and many thanks URD :)

  20. Some people use other emails on paypal, than normally. I´ve seen at least 30 people using a different email on our forum than what they use on paypal. Make sure you check both.
However VEC provide the links to those who have bought it through us (download section for those regged as URD licensed)
Btw i dont know who you are, nicknames and all.
