The problem stems from mods transferred from rF1(or at least files that followed the rF1 format). S397 recently made changes to the engine file, I'm assuming to accommodate the Hybrid battery options. This has caused some sort of mismatch with older mod engine files. The goodnews...short term.... is that @redapg's online tools seem to correct the problem. Run the engine file through his online engine convertor and that should take care of the issue. You can also edit by hand to remove all the comment lines at the top of the file. S397 devs have at least noticed the problem and are, I'm assuming, investigating.
Could I ask how you got at the engine files? When I attempt to extract them using the MAS file utility from their '-MAIN.mas' for the vehicles I get the 'unknown mas key' message
I believe the older version of the mod had the files decrypted. I do not believe there was any physics changes in the later versions. I also think S397 fixed the issues with those engine files in the last update.
I was just wondering if anyone still has access to a very old version of this mod? It probably would've been 2016-2018. I am not sure what happened with these guys but the 3.0 and 4.0 releases (whilst impressive) were poorly tested for offline. The AI have great difficulty making very simple turns and usually turn the wheel 360 degrees which causes them to lose a significant amount of time. It was raised multiple times during the release and they said they would address but ultimately, I think they gave up and abandoned the project altogether. Very disappointing given the amount of work they must have put in over the years making this mod. I remember playing around 400+ hours with the original mod that had working ai and it was a blast and after the update, it was just completely gutted.
If you download these skins at RaceDepartment, there is a text link to version 1.5 https://www.overtake.gg/downloads/enduracers-lola-cadbury-for-version-1-5.44915/ There is a way around the AI problem, you need to unpack the latest version 4.01 and remove all the talent files and then repack it. You can have both V1.5 and V4.01 installed at the same time they install as two seperate folders and both versions run together without any problem. Hope this is of help.
Thank you for taking the time out of your day to respond, I really appreciate it and will take a look. Thanks. Edit: After following your instructions I did see *some* improvement following the repacking, but given that they are only RCD files, it has not really achieved the desired outcome for me. Because the cars are encrypted, I am unable to check what values have been set within the .HDV but I am going to force some changes via the upgrade.ini to see if this improves there over-steer and under-steer behavior, as this is what kills the mod for me.
Enduracers are AWOL and don't make any effort to update their content. Not even to make a small change to the number of base version from which the "install from" their Porsche Cup skin-pack has to work... which is a 15min job, so...
I think it's not just the RCD files that needs to be edited also the teams mas files also needs to be edited, ie all talent files need to be deleted. It's a while ago I did the editing so can't remember exactly. All I remember is it took a long time to do both v1.5 and v4.1, I also removed all the different classes, so you just select the car when adding opponents. Sorry for the delay in responding.
i saw your request and corti's reply with link to V2.0 and manage to get it too here my actual folder: i miss the original v1.0 maybe have it on old HDD ? View attachment upload_2024-5-8_2-43-16.png
