(modern) Monza, Spa, Le Mans, Nords It's 2017. Any/all sim racing titles should have those 4 tracks at a minimum. Should be required! rF2 needs those tracks in DX11. Thank you.
All those are tracks that take a lot of time to build (for a small team) and are expensive to license, that's the reason they are not in rF2. If you search around the internets, you can find (converted) versions of all of those tracks, that's the beauty of having a moddable sim.
Yes, I have all the tracks mentioned but none of them have been updated to DX11. The not-so-beautiful side of having a moddable sim is that these tracks may never get updated to DX11. We are at the mercy of the modder's whim. Most of the "famous" tracks have been converted by sim racing leagues. Leagues do not care about AIW so many of these tracks are unplayable with AI. So you see, not everything is solved by having a "moddable sim"
There is also several official content waiting to be updated to latest rF2 standards and I don't mean dx11. I think 3rd party modders are doing quite a good job, actually.
You don't need a DX11 update if the track in question already looks good in DX11 (no glare etc.). Marcel Offermans explained on discord that there is basically no such thing as DX11 content at the moment, all shaders are backwards compatible, S397 hasn't introduced any DX11 specific shaders yet. As long as track makers follow HDR rules (albedo maps) and avoid using very high RGB values, which are reserved for headlights etc., content should be ok. Agree with the AIW issues etc., especially the conversions from other sims are typically lacking in these areas, as people who do these quick conversions often know little about actual modding.
Now that I deleted Bitdefener they all look great. If they can soften the aliasing a little more I would be happy. Is there any ways of doing that now?
If they looked good I wouldn't be here complaining Anything white on the track is brighter than the sun! So many of my favorite tracks now are just BRIGHT. It's hard to just ignore and race on them anyway.
