He was at IMS earlier this month, surveying the road course, according to his twitter. So if they are just starting the road course now, it won't be done by the 500.
-Which I why I was interested in getting confirmation from that Tim, that everything about the car/the oval is still going according to plan.
Wow, they are only getting to the surveying in April? Ah well, I guess we'll get the RC sometime next year.
It's possible that surveying may have nothing to do with current release plans. If they had track surveyed earlier, they may still release such version of track, be it oval, road course or both. It would be IMS 2013, not IMS 2014, though. Surveying would allow working on 2014 version right after first release, or they could decide to cancel release of 2013 road course altogether and do the oval now and 2014 road course later. Only time will tell.
Just finishing it now. http://www.racer.com/indycar/item/1...ouches-made-to-grand-prix-of-indy-road-course
500, yeah, won't make public release for the GP, the data we needed just came way too late to make that happen. 500 still the target.
Nothing like that, no. That's not usually a stock licensing agreement, anyone doing that would pay a lot for it. We'll have some real cars in the sim though, and IMS should be helping push the release with us.
lol. Some of the kerbs for the GP track weren't finished two weeks ago. The modification to the track didn't happen before the winter.
Just a couple more weeks to go then! I'm super excited...I can't wait to experience all the dynamics and intricacies that rF2 provides, in the context of oval racing. Realroad will finally show its true potential here, as different lines will begin to open up throughout the race, and brave drivers pushing the higher lane early to risk gaining an advantage. Truly a huge step forward for rF2 when this combo releases. We've already seen some pretty impressive screens of IMS, and it looks like it will be amazing. I'm surprised though, that we have yet to see even a sneak peek of the cars. Of course we all know what they look like, and it won't be much of a surprise when we do see them, but it does seem odd that we've not seen even an early render or anything.
Here's an article by motoiq on a DW12 (with lots of nice pics) http://www.motoiq.com/MagazineArticles/ID/3485/Nerds-Eye-View-Dale-Coyne-Racing-IndyCar.aspx
Just heard A.J.Watson passed away. Has any work been done on the roadster? Or just the current car and track?
