I maintain a vehicle torrent right now ... its easy to sift through the posts to find the vehicles because there aren't very many. Tracks, However, OMG! There are many many tons of those and what not... Perhaps I should make a torrent and add tracks to it as people suggest them? Perhaps instead of a vehicle / track torrent it should just be a torrent with all the shiz in there?
Torrents will need to be divided, series, country , track types etc. Then they all get seeded to their respective popularity. Other torrents for RealRoad, skins , setups , etc so everything just "drops in " Done the "right way " it would change the way things are done I have for years and years tried to get GTR GTL GPL and rF to use torrents they all said I was a trouble maker. LMAO If a author did not want to be in a torrent it would be his choice anyways ............
If a site can't survive without downloads it should shut up shop. Confuses me to see sites struggle with bandwidth costs just to make it a more popular site, it makes no sense. ( why you think so many sites died ) Torrents are free we all use what we want. I mean think of all the money you have given file sharing servers in the last 20 years, that is right, every click you made them money not your community. Modders have helped make them, the same file sharers sites that carry filthy rips and no permission. Really never made any sense to me from the beginnings. ? lol
I see that rfactor central has an rfactor2 section - why is there barely any mod-content there? Why do people hate rfactor central?

Actually, they haven't really moved, they've always been there The question is that they won't be "advertising" here, because of the lack of moderation in this forum About the locations torrent, I could do it myself; hope it won't be a huge upload, since like me, many people had downloaded former torrents, plus individual locations when they have been updated/released. If nobody does it before, I will upload a torrent in a couple of days, when I'm at home byyyyyyyyye

Hi Guy, i must agree with you. Ive been away from rF2 for very long time and have come back to start fresh with 288. however with some much "beta" content now im confused about what tracks to grab and try. Is there a list of tracks worth the d/l? focus on track V1.xx or later?
One torrent would be for instance...... DTM Torrent ========= AUDI Trial BMW Trial Skins Red Bull Circuits Setups Real Road HDR League and Open Room mods that are popular. Support folder ( including readmes for all content ) The more precise and compact torrents are the easier to update. If you have say track torrents by Continents and Fantasy, Ovals, etc. they will have less downtime when something is updated. That is how I envisage ( hope ) it will be done in the future.
to anyone who's watching . . . YOUR MAMA !! been some good ideas mentioned here what say somebody lights one up and we can go on and get jiggy wid it ?? I like the idea of multiple torrents, by continents or track type . . . that could work better that the one torrent to rule them all kind of thing we currently have going on.
FYI Spaskis my interpretation was that WE the community would try to fix the torrent in this thread since it already exist here (I'm still seeding), besides, uploading from my connection is not a reality, plus I personally have never written a torrent with more than 2 files in it, this might require someone with a bit more experience, but I'll work with anyone to resolve this issue, even you.
I personally think that there is no need for any torrent. The same circuits in a list with the correspondent link of the download (torrent and/or regular) will do the same job or even better without having to download gigas and gigas. I guess, that is within the abilties of anyone who wants to have "all tracks" available in one single site. The problem I see is that only one person can edit the OP of a new thread. Maybe the wiki could help in this aspect...

Why have every track and mod at every every site, silly unneeded duplication. Whether there is torrents or not will not affect you in any shape or form and it is no problem for you what so ever. The rip off is these file sharing sites, they make money off people while letting others download illegal stuff . ? lol How long would it take for you to find and download all the separate , skins, setups, real road and HDR available. ? How long would the torrent take. ? What is that supposed to be a labour of love or something ? ............hehehehe If you can't see the value in that I wasting my breath........
I think I am getting lost. Who is talking about setups, hdr profiles, skins... ? To keep that updated, a huge effort is required if done by one person and if job is shared these people need to get organized or will never work. I personally would not mix different type of content. I was not saying to have all spread out but in a nice list within a thread linking to the same tracks as the torrent did. The same way people visited abriels thread to update the torrent, they would do so to see the latest changes in the hypothetical thread. I do not use torrents and don't have problems to download content. I think the format isi is using in their download page is quite explaining of what I refer. Is anyone having problems to download isi official content? I dont see your point when you talk about legal or ilegal and people making money about it. I dont think it is related.
